"The Pill" and getting pregnant next within go...?
I'm considering going on birth control for horrible cramping and other PMS stuff. This may sound stupid and I'm probably looking at the worst case scenario here but I'm worried that by going on the pill I might have problems conceiving after that in life. I know people own been on the pill for years and years but has anyone had any problems near getting pregnant later in life or know of anyone that has? I was prescribed YAZ which is fairly foreign so that's another factor to my worries...that it hasn't been out that long enough to see the long term effects. Thanks!
Answers: The pill does not affect fertility, but it does cloak fertility problems. Many people think that the pill caused their infertility but the trueness is that they already had the problems before going on the pill or they were on the pill too long and are infertile due to their age, not the pill.
I enjoy been on Ortho tri-cyclen for about 9 years and was just this minute told by a nurse that there should be no problems with me getting pregnant after I stop taking it. (which will be at the end of my subsequent pill pack) I don't know much about YAZ but I know all other birth control pills are pretty much the same.
I own read that it can take about 3 months for your ovulation cycle to return to normal. However I own also heard of many women getting pregnant two weeks after they stopped the pill.
Personally, I'm not worried about it and I don't imagine you should stress about it either!
