What does progesterone aim?
Answers: Progesterone is the hormone that is secreted at the highest levels after ovulation. Your body other produces it but it will spike during the luteal phase (time after ovulation and before your period) and if you become pregnant it will continue to be elevated. Some people will miscarry if their progesterone plane drops.
You may notice that you have sore breasts before your term. That is caused by high levels of progesterone.
Sometimes your doc will prescribe Provera when you don't go and get your period for a long time. Provera is just progesterone. After you stop taking it, it makes you bleed because your body go through withdrawal from it, just like when you carry your regular period.
