Does weed seriously affect sperm?
My friend, 27, and his wife, 24, are trying to get pregnant. They succeeded once but miscarried after 12 weeks. She has a complete anti-marijuana mentality, but her husband (my friend) is a frequent smoker (5-6 days a week). She told him he cannot smoke from now on because she have heard that marijuana has a negative affect on sperm and could be the create of their troubles. Is she right as far as getting someone pregnant? Yeah I know it's bad for you in general, blah, blah, blah.
If I could hear from a doctor, or someone who have intensely studied this subject, I would appreciate it. I would rather not hear from people like my friend's wife who's simply going to say what she is told. Basically, a scientific response would be preferred.

Well, I have done some research and the smoking will really only sort a difference if they are facing infertility issues already. Then the more you do that could potentially damage sperm, the worse your infertility issues will be. Therefore, it depends on his sperm count and motility to begin with. Many associates have no problem conceiving while smoking, but they most likely don't have infertility issues anyways.
Answers: im not a scientist but im sure weed will cause a man to enjoy low sperm count. but it only takes one sperm to do the job... i outstandingly doubt that the weed caused the miscarriage. it might of been a hormone imbalance next to her... or anything. my younger sister and her hubby are pot heads and they have a healthy infant girl.(she didn't smoke while pregnant!). i don't think the weed is the main cause but it might not be helping any. hope i helped!
Well, I lately found out that i am pregnant, and my husband actually smokes weed 5 to 6 times a day. This is our first child together, and so far, everything is fine in my pregnancy. I abominate it. I feel the same way, that it could affect the child, etc. But he's never going to quit, so I've academic to just separate myself from it. However, his other child, is very late as far as starting to totter etc. He'll be one in august and can barely walk. Im hoping and praying that that's lately because his mother is neglectful, but you can never be too sure
