TTC, is it best to enjoy sex the enormously first daylight you see clear, damp cervical fluid or the sunshine after?
I've been reading up on books (FAM - Toni Weschler) and fertility websites and they all seem to differ for a while when it comes to advising the days you should have sex to conceive. Charting your BBT seems to be a significant factor but this method does not work for me as I work a variety of shifts. So far I've come to the conclusion that checking my cervical fluid may be the best and accurate option. I've read the OPKs are also inaccurate so that choice is thrown out the window as economically. For those of you who have conceived successfully and within a relatively short amount of time (1-3 months of trying), can you shed some light as to what I should be focusing on?
Answers: Not adjectives OPKs are garbage, they do indeed work very well for some women. Tons of women procure their timing perfect and have successful conception while using OPKs. I would give them a shot, as you may enjoy very good luck with them.
Anytime you observe watery cervical fluid, or fluid that resembles raw egg whites, have sex. This indicates that you are surrounded by your fertile window approaching ovulation. Cervical mucus is said to dry up the day after or the day of ovulation, so be sure to hold sex when you see it. Creamy, sticky, or pasty cervical fluid is not considered fertile CM, as sperm can get trapped and tangled in it. Egg white or liquid mucus allow sperm to live longer and swim easier.
It can take a healthy, normal couple up to a year to conceive, and specifically considered normal. Even when you've timed sex perfectly with ovulation, at hand is only a 20-25% chance of conception each cycle. I know we adjectives want to happen rather quickly, but sometimes it doesn't work similar to that, so don't let it shatter your hopes. A lot of things need to happen to hold a successful implantation. I hope it happens quickly for you :)
Also, have you looked into a fertility monitor? They are pricey, but you can find them cheaper on amazon or ebay, same next to the sticks. It might be difficult for you to use if you work rotating shifts, but you have a 6 hour testing window beside the monitor and it is over 99% accurate in detecting ovulation. I've used the Clear Blue monitor for over a year, and it helped me to learn everything I needed to know in the order of my cycle. I learned so much that I don't really even need to use it anymore lol. It is worth every penny, a great investment. Also look into a product called Preseed. Preseed.com for more info. Good luck to you! Source(s): ttc #1 for 19 months, 1 miscarriage.
