When a women have cervical mucus does the uncooperatively aim ovulation or merely an estrogen surge?
cervical mucus is through out a woman's cycle, depending on what type of mucus it is , it can be a sign of ovulation. During early pregnancy, it increases and drop due to hormones, so it really depends. try this link, hope they help :-)

Cervical mucus change throughout the entire cycle. It is sometimes whitish, thicker, clear, or "stringy". It all depends on where in your cycle that you are. Cervical mucus at ovulation is clear and "stringy". This is the smallest hostile mucus for sperm. It creates a "ferning" pattern under the microscope. I believe in nursing arts school it was referred to as spinbarkheit mucus. The time of maximal elasticity usually precedes or coincides with ovulation. Hope this is helpful. Answers: Egg white cervical mucus is caused by an estrogen surge. In your follicular phase (between the start of your period and your ovulation), you only hold one surge of estrogen, and that tends to last a few days and start 3-5 days before ovulation. After ovulation you can own multiple smaller surges of estrogen causing periods of eggwhite cervical fluid.
Edit - Though fertile cervical mucus does fern, so does your saliva during a fertile period. So if you're going to check for ferning, saliva is much easier.
