Clomid and Ovulation Question!! HELP!!?
Ok so I am took my Second round of Clomid 100mg days 5-9. I did not Ovulate until the 17th day of my cycle. Last round of Clomid was 50mg 5-9 I did not Ovulate until the 18th day of my cycle. My Cycles are almost 25-28 days. Is it normal that I am ovulating so late? When can I test? Im so excited but soooooo frightened at the same time. Will the clomid work if I Ovulate so late? I used an OPK so I KNOW that day 17 is right, indistinguishable as day 18 last cycle.
I also ovulated very unpunctually on clomid. day 19. I'm currently 16wks with my little miracle baby, I tested 2 wks after I ovulated.. Good luck
You will ovulate 5-10 days after the concluding pill of clomid so cd 17 or 18 is right in that time frame. I personally ovulated on cd 17 the first 2 months and then cd 18 the 3rd month. This month I ovulated on any cd 15 or 18 (it's hard to tell right now base on my bbts).
If your cycles are only 25-28 days long and you ovulated on day 17 then your luteal phase may be too short. If you o'd on cd 17 and your cycle is single 25 days than your luteal phase is only 7 days long. That is way too short! You will never get pregnant that channel. Even if it's 28 days that is only a 10 day luteal phase which may be a short time too short too. Anything below 10 days is not long enough and is called a luteal phase defect.

Answers: I have PCOS so my fertility dr put me on clomid but it did not work for me--so I get switched to Letrozole (which did work) but if you are ovulating while on clomid give it a couple more rounds before you ask the Dr for a different fertility treatment..but yes, I usually ovulating between day 14-19 while on Letrozole and I enjoy had one miscarriage and one successful pregnancy..my daughter is now 18 months old...here is the trick and it works..buy a digital ovulation predictor tools (walgreens has them) and start testing on day 11 or 12 and audition until you get a positive reading..once you get a positive reading have sex that hours of daylight and the next 2 days after that--so 3 days in a row and then stay lay down for a good 15-30 min after your hubby/partner comes in you and after thsoe 3 days of having sex you continue until you can test and yes, it can be frustrating and stressful but dont give up. i took 2 rounds of clomid and get pregnant sadly i had a miscarriage at 11 weeks it doesnt mater it will work good luck GOD bless
