Everything that Lucky Lady said is true. I would also add that there are risks to the procedure. You can potentially lose your own fertility due to complications from the fertility meds. My friend, who was going through the process to hold her own baby ended up losing an ovary due to the fertility drugs.

New York is a popular place for selling eggs.

Also, keep contained by mind that you could come to regret your choice. There are women who end relationships with men who have donated sperm. There are women who own secondary infertility after donating eggs - never to have children of their own, but some stranger had one of theirs. Source(s): http://www.health.state.ny.us/publicatio…

First grasp that donating eggs is not a get rich quick scheme, it is more or less the desire to help a couple start a family. You will first be put through rigorous psychological and physical testing. Plus, the unharmed IVF process can really take a toll on your body, physically and emotionally and can take several months before you even receive to the egg retrieval. So really do a lot of thinking yourself before you move forward.

With that said..I assume you are in the UK underpinning on that link. If so, you can find a licensed clinics in your area as very well as a wealth of information about starting the donor process here http://www.hfea.gov.uk/ You can look up a clinic near you by using the HFEA’s "Find a clinic" scrabble. If you find a clinic who offers donor programs near you they will usually have info on how to become a donor and you can start the application process.

You can also find some great oblige and advice at IVFconnections. http://www.ivfconnections.net/board/foru… It is a great forum where you can ask questions to experienced donors or those going through the process.

Edited to incorporate: The link I provided is UK clinics.

Lucky Lady, know that the donation process doesn’t go a lot on looks. It go more on things like ethnicity, height, eye color and such. Most infertility programs use anonymous donors and it is not the couple that picks the donor that resembles the recipient but the program staff. It is not adjectives for recipients to meet the donor though it does happen through few clinics. The recipient may see photos but in most cases the recipients don’t even get that. Most clinic with the sole purpose offer the recipient information on things like ethnicity, plane, eye color, hair color, BMI, education, and of course medical history.

skyhigh2440 only just to give you a little peace of mind after Doodlestuff’s answer, know that there does not appear to be any increase within the likelihood for an egg donor to become infertile after donating and it is rare that it would cause any core harm to your health. I have gone through four IVF cycles and hold not had any decrease in my egg supply from one cycle to the subsequent and have not had any complications from my cycles. I have also specified many women who went through multiple IVF cycles who also had no complications. http://www.ivf1.com/egg-donor-risk/

ETA: Lucky Lady I freshly wanted to make it clear and meant no off-colour. I just always envisioned, and bet many do, going into a clinic and getting hand a photo album to pick a donor but I've learned that it only works that way contained by the movies. :)

Good luck!
Answers:    Not sure of where on earth you live but simply look up egg donation/fertility clinics in your area. Donating eggs is not a simple process. It requires a complete and extensive medical history on you and and your entire family, including grandparents. They want to be sure of any genetic illness that may run in your family. You enjoy to be at a healthy weight for your height, and a non smoker. Most clinics prefer a college amount as well, but not always. It goes a great deal on looks as well because couples like to chose a woman that have similar features. Once you sign up to pre-qualify you own to wait for an agency to pick you, and then you have to skulk for a couple to chose you. It can happen right away or not at all. The process of donating eggs is a ton of work. You also have to dance through a psychological evaluation and a meeting with a mental heath professional to run through the emotion of the donation process. You have to inject yourself with fertility meds everyday and have rash morning daily dr appointments. The meds stimulate your ovaries to produce a lot of eggs, then they extract them. There are side effects that come along near the injections, for some women they are mild, for some it is a bit worse.

The money is good but you have to be ok with a child out near having your genetic material that you may never know. There's a lot more mood in the process then people suppose. It is wonderful to help couple make their dreams come true, I plan to donate eggs myself one day. But it is vital to understand the emotions and joys involved near the process. The money is just really an added bonus compared to being able to backing a couple fulfill their dream, and knowing that you are the person to make those dreams a reality. It's a superb thing. Good luck to you!

Edit to realityshowjunkie: Yes, that is what I meant when I spoke of looks. Perhaps I should enjoy been more specific.

Edit to realityshowjunkie: No, I meant no harm any, didn't mean to come off that way. Good luck to you :)
I only know of clinics in california.

There is a rigorous screening process and the woman would hold to give herself multiple shots daily. There is no guarantee that just anyone can be a donor, and even if you try, you may never be picked by intended parents.

Repost or include more info if you want to know about the clinics near me.
