Having my first IUI done Aug.6th and would similar to to know what the exact steps of this process are?

I am going in to have an IUI done Aug.6th and I am wondering if anyone can give me the exact steps they do from the completely first app to the last?! I am wondering what most docs to the first time you go in. Thanks. I am seeing Gayla Harris within knoxville, TN
Answers:    The IUI is completed in one visit. They will use a speculum to open your vagina a short time ago like when you have a pap smear. They will then insert an insemination catheter into your vagina, through your cervix, and into your uterus. Once the catheter is within place, they will inject the sperm directly into your uterus. The entire process takes less than 5 minutes. I tend to have some cramping during the procedure.

Of course, if you are using fresh sperm, your partner will own to give his specimen prior to the procedure. It will then be "washed." That's what they name the process used to separate the sperm from the semen, and the good ones from the not so good ones.

How do you have the date of your IUI programmed already almost a month in advance? My RE won't schedule an IUI until I hold a +OPK, then I go in the subsequent morning for the procedure.

Good luck to you, and loads of baby dust your way!
