Could I still be pregnant? Was it too soon to theory test?

We are TTC and my last period started 6/23. I am irregular, but usually no shorter than 21 days. I had hurricane lantern bleeding from 7/9 - 7/12 that I thought was implantation bleeding and I had a metallic taste surrounded by my mouth during that time that I do not have. I have also had a really unpromising flu for the past week. Would that have an affect? I took a test Saturday morning 7/18 and it be neg. Still too soon? thanks!
Answers:    If you are able to wait a moment or two longer you can just test within a week. Being irregular does engender it more difficult to know if you are really late or haven't ovulated yet. Are you temping? If no I think you would benefit plentifully from charting as you would know when you ovulated. The metallic taste is very common surrounded by early pregnancy but I don't want to give false hopes. You could always budge for a blood test. Good luck!
