Clomid + Metformin Success?

So my doctor has me on 1500 mg of Metformin and gave me a script for Clomid for when DH comes home (which should be between August and September). I started the Metformin July 15th and I'm hoping that my having 3 months of Metformin within my system will help us in the long run. I was researching online and notice that Clomid + Metformin has a high success rate along next to a chance of twins. I was wondering if anyone on here has have success with taking the two together and approximately how long it took. I know that every situation is different but I would like to hope that near is some chance that we could be one of the success stories that conceive right away. If anyone has a nouns story that they would like to share I would appreciate it. Also I have been diagnosed near PCOS and I have lost 70 lbs since September 2008. I got AF July 16th and lately I've had slight cramping on both my right and departed side and I'm hoping this is a sign of ovulation but I'm not completely sure. I am the only one in my family that have had issues conceiving. My mom had 2 successful births and my sister has have 1 so far. I on the other hand have had 2 miscarriages surrounded by the past 2 years and have had issues near AF and ovulation my entire life. Any suggestions/comments would be grately appreciated!
Hi! I have PCOS and am taking Metformin and Clomid. I started Metformin finishing December. Before I was getting my period every 3 months. Within a month I was getting my time every month and ovulating. My luteal phase was too short so that's when I got prescribed Clomid. Didn't have any luck the first 2 rounds. I'm on my third round and hoping this is it! Clomid increases you likelihood of twins slightly, but it's still only 10% chance. On Metformin I never got any ovulation cramping, but on Clomid I do, so it sounds similar to that could be it. If you don't already do it I would recommend charting your BBT. That way you will know for sure if you are ovulating. This is how I noticed my luteal phase was too short too.
I'm on Metformin 1000mg and Clomid 100mg.

I've be on Metformin for about 4 months and this is my first month of clomid.

I am thin...so I'm not sure how I'll respond to the clomid. I'm on day 23 and I don't assume I've ovulated and I'm also really "dry". Its awful.

Next month I'm going to take evening primrose oil and preseed to help next to the dry cm.

I'm on Clomid for 3 months without monitoring. Then it's back to the fertility clinic for more fun (not!) treatment.
Answers:    i myself have PCOS had it for 10 years.
My dr sometime vertebrae put me on b/c pills for 3months and metformin.
I stopped takin b/c pills and kept takin metformin. Then my dr put me on clomid for 3 cycles and on my third cycle i used pre-seed and got my BFP on my third cycle. So Yes there is hope. LOL. And Yes everyone is different but we have to walk through lots to see what will work for us. Hopefully U wont have to go though anything else. I pray this works for U.
The Very best of luck and tons & tons of baby dust
