A few crazy question! please support!?

1. i know sperm can live inside a women for up to 5 days but how long does it take for the sperm to reach the egg if the egg has already be released?

2. is it better to have sex before, during, or after you detect your LH surge?

3. i got my LH surge this morning (29th) and i have sex on the 27th and 28th. what are my chances of conceiving if i dont have any more sex (hypothetically) ... ill be have plenty of sex... i was just wondering!

thanks ladies and babe-in-arms dust to all!!
it takes weeks for the sperm.
and the rest of the questions..Im not sure.
1. Sperm can live up to 7 days in optimal conditions. However, most possible they live about 3 days in good mucus. We don't know how long it take to reach the egg-a day or two is what I have read.

I get pregnant from sex either one or two days before ovulation (I disagree with fertility friend's ovulation date).

2. It is best to hold sex at least every other day up to ovulation day and including the sunshine after ovulation. On a study on fertility friend of charts, they found that most pregnancies occurred with sex in the 3 days since ovulation and the day of ovulation. Research supports that two days before ovulation and the day up to that time ovulation up your chances of getting pg.

3. Your chances are 25%-that is the same for everyone within any given cycle.

Good luck!

Answers:    1) sperm can live UPTO 3 days - in optimum conditions (when you have your cervical mucous -the drizzling stuff a few days after the end of your period- they swim better and live longer because the mucous privides a non-hostile environment). They dont live as long in an acidic environment (no mucous).

2) according to books i've read, its better to hold some swimmers in place BEFORE you ovulate and since an LH surge only give you a 12-36 hour windowpane of oppertunity, you may want to do it every other day until you see your LH surge and then upto 3 days after you see the surge. That way you will own some sperm where they're supposed to be incase you ovulate early. Its also a good concept to do it for a day after you think you've ovulated just incase you ovulate past due. Some books i've read say do it every other day, others say do it as much as possible regardless of LH surge or anything. Try it one way for one cycle and anther way the next if it doesnt work.

3) even if you do everything right and hold sex at the excat time you were supposed to, there is still only a 20-25% randomness at best of conceiving, but statistically it should happen within a year.

Good Luck!
1. techniqually sperm can just live for 72hours. And it take take any where from afternoon 1 of ejaculation to day three before it reaches the egg. Some sperm swim faster than others. Typical the manly bearing sperm die off sooner.

2. If you are expecting your LH surge i would try to have sex atleast the daytime before or the day on. Not the day after.

3. Chances are great for you!! So i would articulate you should hopefully get a positive result in the next couple of weeks!

accurate luck!
1. Up to 7 days actually, it really depends on what research article you read - and 5 days is conservative. It means that by day 5-7 they are congregated around the maturing follicle, they can sense the chemicals given sour so they are already there.
2. Just every two days during your fertile period, that way you don't miss it and you don't hold to stress, and the sperm is fresh and healthy from constant production (when you're not having sex he should masturbate every 2 days on his own for the same judgment, to keep production going).
3. One in 4, the same as anyone else trying to conceive.
