14 month hoary and no teeth?
Ok my daughter is 14 months old and she still has no teeth. Her Dr. says that as long as she have at least 1 before she is 15 months it will be fine.If she still doesn't have any at her 15 month check up he wishes her to go to the dentist.What can a dentist do? I really don't understand what a dentist can do, i mean is he gonna distribute her a set of dentures.LOL
They would likely x-ray them to make sure the teeth are there and are merely below the gums then they would work to identify why they have not come through the gums.
Eruption time of primary or baby teeth varies from child to child. A baby's first tooth usually appears sometime between four months and the infant's first birthday. Some children are born with teeth and others do not develop them until they are okay over one year old.
Complete agenesis or absence of teeth is extremely rare. Most plausible, your child is just a late developer. X-rays would confirm that your daughter indeed has teeth but the problem become taking the pictures on such a young child. It is unlikely that a pediatric dentist could get your daughter to sit still long enough to find a readable x-ray.
I tend to agree with your pediatrician and feel that this problem is not alarming. You should give it a few more months and allow time for her teeth to erupt. If your daughter is two years feeble and no teeth have appeared, x-rays may be easier to obtain and will be more accurate.

Don't laugh- my one brother in law had some of his teeth that never developed surrounded by his mouth- even when the permanent ones came in. He certainly wears a fitted retainer that has fake teeth for where on earth those are. It does happen.
Usually the dentist will try and determine the cause and if possible, treat it or hold something that they can do to help. Most kids FYI have their first tooth pop up between 4 and 6 months of age. Normally the bottom front two come in first consequently the top two front, then the ones on either side of those and then the 2 year molars. I would be concerned and hail as a pediatric dentist to have it checked out. She could be just a really late bloomer or near could be an underlying reason. Whichever it is, it needs to be found so it can be treated appropriately. Without teeth she won't be able to munch through regular food or chew.
some are unsettled bloomers in the dental area, I have hear of lots of people who say their kid didn't get teeth till their kid be 18 mths, 24 mths etc. ive never heard of any kid just not having teeth, they are within somewhere, waiting patiently, im ot sure what a dentist could do other then take xrays to see if they are hovering in recent times below the surface, best wishes
Some children don't get teeth until 18 months. My son get his firs tooth on his first birthday followed by the other 3 front teeth a week later. That is all he had until he be 21 months. Now at almost 22 months he has a total of 9 teeth. My daughter had all of her teeth beside her 2nd set of mollars by 18 months. Just relax, and delight in her the way she is, she will get teeth in pious time. I was worried about my sons teeth when he didn't cut but the 4, but with patients they started coming contained by. She will be fine, and the doctor may want her to see a dentist at 15 months just to ensure all is well.
