1 year antiquated bad feeling.. what to do?
My 1 year old has a temper that have been getting worse over the past few weeks. He screams and presently scratches my face and shoulders when he does not get what he requests or if i redirect him to something else. He screams in highchair when he is done or desires something. I cannot stand the screaming but I really cannot handle the scratching he scratched me so bad contained by the store yesterday that he almost scratched my eye. What discipline if any should I do?
Answers: I have started ignoring my 16 month old daughter when she throws unnecessary tantrums, and it is in actuality working quite well. Once, she hit me in the obverse, and I grabbed her wrist and said "No! That hurts mommy!" Then, I took her hand and touched my face considerately, and said "This is being nice. Be nice to mommy!" I know she got the gist of it because the other day, she hit our dog, said "No!" and later touched him gently while saying "Nice".
I received an email bulletin yesterday through babycenter.com that had some perfect information regarding temper tantrums and how to deal beside them:

all one year olds have tantrums. Mostly I ignore it, but you also own to start to react appropriately so they start to understand consequences (age appropriate of course). So with my kids for example I've other said "i beg your pardon or "stop the nonsense". My 1 year old know what " do i need to put you in the cot?" means.not that it stops the tantrums..but it make her rethink if it's worth it. I give her a few warnings.then put her within the cot.
With scratching.grab his hand and look sterna nd hurt and say aloud " No...don't hurt mummy". My 1 yr old will look upset and then i say "say-so sorry..poor mummy)...and though she can't talk...she'll give me a pat and look sorry.
But they are babies still..don't be too hard on him.but opportunity to start setting boundaries rash. Source(s): mum of 4
