How to gain my son to quit pooping when we progress swimming...?

He is 3 yrs old and in the middle of potty training. His babysitter/aunt would put a diaper on him then a short time swimmers over that. But not only do I not have the money for the little swimmer, I also would rather nick care of the problem instead of just working around it. He has no problems near baths. So it must be the cold water of the pool that causes this reaction. Does anyone know anything I can do to relief him? I've already reassured him that no one will be mad at him. And I report him constantly that he needs to tell me when he has to potty. All of this still did not serve when we went to the pool today. He had swim trunks on. And we didn't think anything when he get out of the pool and was playing by a chair. Until we found the little surprise. And then I have to clean him up and then clean out his shorts when we get home. I'm not worried about this on my end. But I've never experienced this with a kid since and honestly have no idea what to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
That is so funny that you mention this. I too have 2 small kids, daughter 2 1/2, and a son 1 1/2, and I own the same problem. It must be the cooler water, because on many occasion one if not both kids will poop in their swimpants. I always hold them in a regular diaper for sometime before putting on the swimpants, in the hope that they will do their business within those, but I haven't been very successful. Neither one is potty trained, but my daughter just lately started telling me she pooped, or that she stinks, just not before she in reality does it. Would love to have any suggestions, or maybe what you did to make them stop, because it is really yucky, and embarassing if you are at someone else's house. I still enunciate the water has to be what it is, since this never happens at bathtime. Of course they may be cleaned out by bathtime, which would explain why they don't afterwards.
Easy. Wait to swim till after he poops.

Honestly though you have no business putting him surrounded by the pool without a diaper if you know he is going to poop in it. It is a health risk to EVERYONE when he poops within the pool. You get like 20 diapers for $6, if you can't afford it then maintain him out of the pool.
You should take him to the bathroom JUST before you are going to receive in the pool. Ask him to TRY to go potty before he go swimming. Praise him when he goes...kids are smart...explain to him that it is unsanitary to poop in the pool...and that other people do not want to swim near poop. You could start a sticker chart at home each time he poops on the potty before swimming he gets a sticker.

Additionally, you don't enjoy to buy disposable swim pants...they sell reusable/washable ones for under $10.00 see the contact below.

I know how you feel and I am dealing next to it as well. My son is only 16 months but for some strange reason he like to poop in the pool. We just started taking him a month ago and its happened a few times. I enjoy found a few places that sale better swim diapers. ( One Step Ahead Baby) The disposable you buy at the store are very expensive and don't work against #2 only #1. I enjoy NEVER seen 20 swim diapers for $6, and if there is such a price please tell me where on earth. I think we have to buy reusable and maybe double up on them. That or no more swimming at the pool for my son. Which is in low spirits because my 31/2 year old daughter LOVES it and is doing great at swimming on her own. I don't think I can stop it until he get a short time older but I have to find a way to hold it out of the pool. It is not safe at all for anybody, as I'm sure you already know. Good luck I feel your aching! Yuck Yuck Yuck :-(( It is comforting to see other parents are going through the same embarrassing situation!!
at 3 years old i think he is old ample to not poop in the pool if you tell him not to.
My little cousin just turned 4 and EVERY TIME he goes swimming he has to progress poo! He doesn't poop in the pool, he gets out and tells his mom that he requests to and then she takes him to use the bathroom, but it is seriously every time they swim! You aren't alone, and im sure if your son doesn't grow out of it he will at least swot up to let you know he needs to go use the bathroom. The just thing i can think of is to make him poo in the past he can swim or to let him swim for a little while then embezzle him to the bathroom and make him try. Good luck!
Answers:    Put him in a cloth diaper and plastic pant and put a swim suit over the diapers. A lot of pools are starting to require kids in swim diapers to have plastic pants over the swim diaper so if he still have a #2 accident, hell be diapered which is protected with the plastic pants. I wouldn't cogitate it would be that noticeable with a swim suit over the diapers.
