12 month ancient wake 4 times a dark for bottles. How can I cut a couple out?
My 12 month old eats solids breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea & dinner, then feed himself a bottle around 7pm. But still wakes up to 4 times during the night for bottles? Can anyone give me some proposal on how to put him back to sleep without the bottles. PLEASE NO "let him cry himself support to sleep" advice thanks, we've tried this & he cries for up to an hour hysterically! (Which only wake him up completely).
Sounds like he's still hungry. Try giving him a snack after dinner that'll fill him up for most of the night. Also sounds similar to a comfort thing for him, he knows you'll be in in attendance with another bottle if he cries. What if you skipped the bottle and just sang, comforted him?
how many oz is he consumption when he wakes up? I would give him 6 or 8 oz once, my daughter does around Midnight. Also make sure he is have at least three (6-8 oz) bottles/cups of milk/formula/breastmilk a day. If extra bottles during the day aren't helping and he is still wake up out of habit I would try to supplement the feedings with water sometimes they purely wake up because they are use to it. Babies also go through growth spurt and will wake up for a bottle once or twice a hours of darkness. Source(s): Mother of two hungry kids!!
Alcohol. It'll put him right out.
Kidding. Don't give your baby booze. You freshly drink it til the crying can't wake you up.
Kidding again, that's child abuse. Best idea would be to stop one of his nap during the day, and he'll be more tired at night.
Try reducing the size of the bottles, instead of 4 oz receive it two, or replace with water.
good luck i am on that road also, but mine cant hold his bottle 10 mo
enjoy you tried a modified cio, like go in and comfort him, afterwards leave again? I am going to try that this week.
This is the exact thing that happened to my son. I didnt have the heart to consent to him scream all night I guess its so cruel. What I did was mixing my sons water at nigh with fragment water then milk. And slowly throughout the week start adding more hose down to the bottle and less milk. Then before long he was lately drinking water at night. Well I took him to my dad's for a nighter and they gave him milk and I have to start ALL OVER again. Well I did it and he ended up taking water instead of milk at night. Try doing that and premaking 4 bottles of hose down so you wont have to go very far to supply it to him and you can get more sleep he will break himself before 2 im sure. Breaking the bottle is very complicated. My son was almost 2 when he broke off. Friends told me to just lug it away and let him cry it out for 3 days and he would be broke. My son hit himself threw himself at walls and screamed for 3 days.it didnt work and I couldnt handle him trying to hurt himself. I give it back and he was fine except he had started getting dark terrors look it up its horrible. Well not too long after he chewed the nipple off ( i threw away the top part) and I couldnt afford to buy new nipples so I tried out something hot giving it to him like that well he didnt like that it poored adjectives over him within 1 day I kid you now he refuse the bottle. Dont let ppl tell you to break them off and consent to them scream for three days it was the worst thing we ever did and the worst warning. Hope it helps...let me know! Source(s): Mother of 2
We have tried departing a sippy cup of milk then water in the crib. Then he is adjectives set when he wakes up.
Answers: Try a snack with his 7pm bottle, something like mashed potatoes, conceivably a plate of fresh vegetables or even a small plate from dinner (not sweet or empty carbs, something that will "stay" with him through the night). This should help his little belly stay full while you adjectives get some sound sleep. Source(s): fan4ou's fiance' mother of 6
try adding more bottles thruout the day. he may simply be hungry. and then i would start giving him a smaller bottle at night decreasing it little by little until he has lately alittle.
only give him bottles of dampen in the night.
make sure he eat plenty during the day.
If your one year old child is wake up four times a night I do not think it is for "bottles". The bottle is representing "comfort" at this age. My pediatrician told me to make sure I get rid of all bottles before my children turn 1 so that they don't become attached to sucking on the things for comfort. It worked for my 3 kids. They used a sippy cup with hose if they woke up in the middle of the night and were thirsty. They took a couple of sips and fell backbone to sleep. Little kids dream and sometimes get upset. I also did not pick my kids up at this age because it was hard to set them put a bet on in the crib. They would get even more upset. So, I just stood subsequent to the crib and rubbed their back a little and made soft sounds of comfort. They also started at this age to get attached to a stuffed animal and blanket, and they be able to comfort themselves back to sleep. We had a nightlight within the room. They also had a kids music box in the bed with them. I would hear them turn it on themselves.
I agree beside you to not let a child cry themselves back to sleep. I'm talking give or take a few hysterical crying. That is just mean as far as I am concerned. They want comfort from the parent and I would not deny them. However, if you give a bottle and stroll away then you are not teaching them (or training them) how to comfort themselves. You need to start worrying something like that milksugar in their mouths causing decay to their teeth too. Switch to marine in a cup. Only one time in the night should be satisfactory. Fussy crying is different than all out hysterical crying. Fussy crying a child can get over by themselves if you do some of the stuff I suggested. Good luck.
PS Breaking a kid of the bottle is easy when done around 11 months behind the times to one year old. Don't wait. It will be horrible to try to do it later..
Try to remember that you are taking support of your child the best that you know how. Sometimes they aren't always happy, but you are doing the right thing for them anyways. Source(s): mother of three, RN
