My son is getting within trouble at conservatory for constantly asking why. What do I do to stop it ?

He's 4 and 1/2 and has asked why for as long as he's been able to speak. I've other answered him because I want him to be inquisitive, but now he's annoying his teachers and getting into trouble. He sometimes asks reasonable why question, but very often his inquiry is a force of habit, I'm afraid, and behaviour are hard to break.
If the only trouble your child has is asking why your a very lucky parent. The teacher shouldnt give him a hard time about it its prob a moment ago a phase but teachers should relise if they push him to hard he might become reluctant to ask genuine question.
A good teacher should not be bothered by this, unless he is being wayward, and I don't think that is what he is doing at his age. A good mentor would answer him with things like, "Why do YOU think that happen?" or "Why do YOU think that's so?" Instead of just telling him the answer, ask him to ponder about it himself. But don't make him stop asking, its not a bad piece.
Ask the teacher WHY she has a problem with it.
Keep answering his questions and don't let him be disciplined for asking - asking lots of questions is an hasty sign of "giftedness". Nurture his love of learning! Source(s): http://giftedkids.about.com/od/nurturinggiftsandtalents/qt/questions.htm

I was placed surrounded by "gifted" classes my entire life, and I've always asked why questions. ALWAYS, because I love knowing why things are the road they are!
Answers:    sounds like the problem is with his university, not him. It is natural for a 4 1/2 year old to ask a lot of question, especially why questions. That is how they learn. It can be annoying, believe me I know, I have a son duplicate age and all he does is ask questions, even when I know he already knows the answer. At that age they want to know that you are listen to them and that you will answer them when they really do have a question.

Like the first person who answered said, answer his grill with your own question. "Why do you think it is approaching that" He sounds like a smart kid and you are doing the right thing by answering his questions, even if it does carry annoying.
