3 year dated birthday delegation food?
I am having trouble on what to do for my soon to be 3 year old. It will mainly be adults, but here will be about 6 kids including my son. Last year we had Cici's pizzas catered, great choice and everyone loved it. This year we wanted to do something different.
We are thinking of getting 2 immense Schlotzky's sandwich trays catered, but are not sure if we should do this. I don't really want to spend that much money on food for the party and that will cost $140 just on food. I was thinking I don`t know a BBQ, but since it will be at grandma and grandpa's house, big yard, I am not sure if they will want to BBQ, my dad has to BBQ when it is at his house. If we do do the BBQ idea, I be thinking fajitas, chicken and beef. Everyone likes them and my son really likes them. Plus they are extremely cheap at Mexican Meat Markets here in Texas and the best fajitas you can buy.
Anybody own any other suggestions? Catering will cost $10 a person at most places and will max food budget at $200. Anything cheaper is nice.
I let my kids make up the party menu, it's usually pretty cheap and completely interesting, this year he wanted mac&cheese, hot dogs, carrots and pears, it's a great conversation at the party.
One year my dad be a little upset because he was served Peanut butter and jelly and doritos and apples LOL
I would make my own sandwich trays that's what I did for my 4 yr olds b-day party. I made turkey and lettuce sandwiches ham and cheese and peanut butter and jelly. I also made a snap peas and apples tray (slice your own apples and toss weakly in lemon juice) chex mix. For drinks, I just did soda caprisons and flavored water. It concluded up being inexpensive fun and cheap! also I got a lot of gratefulness from parents for having healthy food as compared to the usual party food! Hope this help
what i do for b-day parties is...
have adjectives the family members bring something
for example
my mom brought a potato casserole
hubby's mom brought fruit salad
my sister brought taco salad
my grandma brought veggies and dip
my other grandma brought baked beans and mac. salad
my husband and i did BBQ chicken, hot dogs, cheeseburgers, and kabosi on the grill.
we also had cake and rime cream.
this worked out really well, because most family members would not mind bringing one or two items.
Make coneys or sloppy joes, thats what i did for my 1 year olds first bday party everyone loved it. next to chips, and cheese puffs for the little ones :) good luck
