My toddler cries every time I put her on the potty.?
My daughter is two and a half years old. I have be trying to potty train her, but I haven't been having much success. She seem very interested in potty training books and videos. When I put on a potty training video, she is memorized by it and sings along to adjectives the songs. She also wants to read a potty training book at bedtime almost every night. Despite her interest, she hates truly potty training. We have three different toddler potties in our house, and whenever I put her on any of them, she starts to cry. She doesn't become hysterical, but her cry is definitely more than for a time whine. She'll just sit there and continue to cry until I pocket her off. I have tried reading to her on the potty too. When I read to her, she doesn't cry, but she gets rotten the potty and doesn't go to the bathroom. I have also tried potty training first thing surrounded by the morning, but she is usually to cranky to have any part of it. At this rate,I'm afraid my daughter is going to start kindergarten in diapers. I don't take to mean... she is very smart and a good toddler overall. Any advice?
Maybe you should wait a bit you know when they should start being potty trained when they squat contained by the corner. That's when you should try again.

Answers: We have a similar problem. She knew when she was going to pee/poop but would NOT sit on the potty! We started by having her step stand in the bathroom when she was peeing so that she still had to stop what she be doing and go to the bathroom. I would say at 2 and 1/2 just lay past its sell-by date for a few months. Then I made a HUGE poster for her with ribbons, glitter, and lots of pink. This was her potty chart, She get to put a sticker on it and got a gummy bear for a "BEARy good try" she get a larger sticker and a gummy lifesaver for peeing and a sticker and smarties for a poop "SMARTIE Pants." This helped me to distract her on the potty. While she sat I asked what color candy she wanted and agree to her look at the stickers and pick the one she wanted to put on the poster. I also have 5 boxes for stickers at the bottom for each morning she went without diapers and after 5 days she got a special toy for girls that are potty trained.
We still permit her wear diapers at nap and bedtime for awhile and that took a lot of the stress off of her.
I hope this help. I wouldn't worry too much as long as she is there by 4 years =). Good luck!
The first thing I will say is that you shouldn't be putting her on the potty. She should be sitting there herself. She will touch forced if you place her there. This should be her decision. You can help her swot and make the decision but don't force her or you will have doomed to failure results and lots of accidents.
The best way to learn is to inculcate. You should get her a baby doll that wets and hold her teach the baby doll how to potty. Give the doll a name and hold your daughter walk the baby to the potty, pull down her pant, and sit down. Then when you activate the baby doll and she pees, throw a big party.
"Yay!! Baby Sandy go potty like a big girl!! Yay!!" blow on blowers and put on a party hat and hold a big party. Do this several times and all throughout the process ask your daughter if she needs to use the potty. She will most potential say no several times. It helps if you are constantly having your daughter drink fluids so she will entail to go and also make sure she is wearing her "big girl" underwear so she can just verbs them down and go when she's ready. As she teaches the tot doll how to use the potty she will get the idea of how to do it and how great it is when she doesn do it. Teaching is the best way to cram. If you really just focus on this for just one day later your little girl will more than likely be trained at the end of that day.
