When to switch to a toddler bed?
When did you put your child into a toddler bed?
My son is 20 months.
when they're ready. if you think your 20 month old-fashioned will do good in a toddler bed then switch by adjectives means! i had to switch my son at 13 months because he climbed out of his crib.
i can't speak for anyone else but i know it was abundantly easier then everyone told me it would be! he sleeps great. even better then when he was surrounded by his crib.
Good question. My daughter is also 20 months, and just this week climbed out of her crib by herself and bruised up her arm and foot doing it. It's so hard at this age because they are still too immature to understand that they can get hurt. They also can get hurt by switching to a toddler bed this young at heart, as it gives them the ability to get up by themselves surrounded by the middle of the night and get into things they aren't supposed to. My advice is use the crib as long as you can.
My son is also 20 months old
We are switching right now.
We turned his crib into the toddler bed.
He started climbing out of it a few weeks ago so that was a big indication that we have to switch him
We switched our daughter to a toddler bed when she began trying to climb out of her crib. She was about 23 months at the time. She's loved it ever since. Now she's 4 and a partially and is starting to out grow it.
It's getting close to the time to get her a twin bed. Source(s): http://www.SillyBuster.com
Every child is different, transport the cues from your child! my son is 3 and is not climbing out and is still very comfortable in his crib so i am still waiting..I have his twin bed within storage..My daughter is 11 years old now but we switched her to a twin bed when she was only shy of 3 years old. She said she wanted a big girl bed. Don't invest in a toddler bed, take your child a twin or larger bed..better investment in the long run! 2 years old i think, but make sure you put up a proceeds so he cant get out of his room. My friends 3 year old climbs the gate tho and get out and into things. Id lock the door if you have to for safety, so he cant get out of his room at dark and seriously injure himself.
my son is 18 months and has be in his toddler bed for 1 month. we have a race vehicle bed which he totally loves
no need within my opinion, u can go straight from crib to regular bed. the toddler bed is so close to the floor, not like crib & newly not comfortable for them.
My son is 22 months, i don't think he is ready for his toddler bed. he likes to sleep upside down, and sideways. and he doesn't climb out of his crib. so it of late depends if you think your son is ready.
My little boy went in at 16 months & loves it. Bought the side rails to move about on the bed though so don't worry about him falling out.
Answers: My daughter is 20 months and I switched it around 16 months. because i wanted to do it before i got rid of the pacifier which be 18 months. she did excellent in transition. It was her crib that changed into a toddler bed so i think she be ok with it since it wasnt something *new* she was used to her crib. when we go on time off i dont even carry her pack and play anymore because she can climb out of it! they are growing too fast :(
EDIT: Also i put a baby total admission money up in my hallway area so she can single go into my room or her room if she wakes up in the middle of the darkness. It works great. i love waking up sometimes and she gets in my bed, reminds me of co-sleeping! it doesnt take place much though
