Is 20-21 too young at heart to start an in-home daycare?

I am 18 now and I am going to college this fall for Child Development Supervision and Management. It will give me experience within daycare settings, give me certification of CPR for adults, children, and infants, and it will teach me the nutritional condition for children.. and much more. I have around 9 neices and nephews and have been taking aid of them since I was twelve, especially living with my 2 year old neice since she be born. So.. I do have experience in taking care of children. I am planning on starting my own daycare as soon as me and my boyfriend receive a house, which will be in 2ish years when we graduate. We'll be in the des moines area, hopefully, and I don't know how unyielding it would be to start one up. I am just wondering if my age will be a concern to most parents? I know I am going to be more than ready to care for children, but it's simply the start of something new. I am already planning it all and have DHS # and address to receive more information on it... I want to do preschool-daycare to teach children rather than watch them. I want them to interact next to eachother and I want to get the satisfaction of TEACHING a child something that they never knew... It's my dream to do this.. I of late think my age might turn parents away?
I would hold no problem sending my child to you as long as you have the experience and schooling. You can try and spin it saying yes, you are young, but I can hold on to up with them.
Some parents may be a little afraid to let their kids step to your daycare based on your age so be prepared for that.

Have you thought about becoming a Master Teacher at a three star facility?

You could gain experience and than when you wanted to you could depart your own home day care and let culture know you were once a Master teacher at a three star facility. That way parents would be more trusting!
Answers:    21 isn't too young to be a teacher, if you are qualified. No one have to know how old you are. Obviously, they're not going to think you're 30 (lol) but there's nothing saw you couldn't be a younger looking 25. Just don't tell them if they don't ask.

As long as you feel qualified, and the parents are comfortable with your QUALIFICATIONS, it doesn't business how old you are.

Good luck, sounds fabulous!
