How long after my son is potty trained should be cram to stand up?
I'm babysitting some girls and they walked in and said, "Your son is peeing like a girl!" LOL... so... yeah... that's why I'm asking. He's with the sole purpose been using the potty since the beginning of the summer. He'll stand up outside but he just doesn't want to when he's surrounded by the house. I figured I would just let him when he's set just like I did with the entire potty training piece - he just started going by himself without me pushing it.
AND he will not use a public restroom if his life depended on it.
My son has be potty trained for a few months and about a week into it he saw my husband using the bathroom and then he HAD to stand. He knew exactly how to do it too...must come unconscious.
I did however notice it is impossible for him to stand and pee in a childs potty chair. He cannot control the stream and it go everywhere. He can only stand at the big potty because somehow he gets it all within.
Also, at church the other day he got to use a urinal. He thought that was the BEST!
Good luck.
I would say that depends entirely on the rise of your son and the toilet. You want to make sure there are no mishaps, it is hard ample to control the direction when you are definitely pointing down, let alone if you are almost level next to the thing. However, if you have a kid toilet he should already be standing up. If he can tell when he desires to go tot he bathroom then he needs to be capable of tell what he needs to go for, and if it is freshly pee-pee then he should be standing. If he is not sure let him sit down to figure it out. Make sure he know it is okay to pee sitting down, but big boys pee standing up unless you have to poop at the same time.
Answers: If he lately got potty trained, I wouldnt worry about it. He'll stand up surrounded by a few months when he gets more comfortable. Throw some cheerios in the toilet and see if he can pee on them standing up, boys love that stuff.
Hun this depends on your son, now Thomas over there <<<is 11 and simply mastered standing too wee, my nephew is 4 and just started and i have to say he be shown by his dad who brought him a little stool to stand on because he is tiny, but don't worry he will get it soon ..lately have a mop ready !
If the girls you babysit are big enough to variety comment like that, they should also be big enough to understand that you'd resembling them to stay out of the bathroom while he's in there. That said, they are probably little enough that they are not making fun of him, basically stating the obvious.
I wouldn't verbs about it. I have two little ones and try to let them do things on their own when they are geared up. I do work with them and everything, I just don't push the issue too much. Maybe from time to time try to get him to stand up. Or enjoy the father go to the bathroom with him so he sees how daddy does it. You could also try putting a few fruit loops or something surrounded by the toilet and make a game out of it! Sounds a little unexpected I know, but this way its exciting to try and pee on the fruit loops and after a while he will be use to going to the bathroom this way. If there is a guy to show him first that may assistance! Good luck, hope this helps. Source(s): Mother of two!
