Help With The Terrible Two's?
Does anyone have any advice or pointers reguarding the terrible two's?
Thanks
Patience! it will pass. Stay out of power struggles. pick them up and move them out of the situation beside few words. Your actions speak louder than words. It is normal... you can't control it. It is a very frustrating time for them.. their brains are growing but their emotion can't keep up.
well what do you want to know? They grow out of the grisly two's and into the '*** 3's' lol. Ummm it gets better but worse at the same time. They start to listen more as they get elder but also embarass you more when they can talk more. Lots of redirection, good time to start time out too. Keep them busy. Lots of prayers for your sanity, lol.Oh and monitor what you say. The little sponges will listen to something you say today and bust out with it surrounded by 4 months while you are in church or something.
Answers: Just remember, a smack on the bottom once surrounded by a blue moon doesnt go astray. (I will probably get burnt at the stake for wise saying that lol). I have two teenage boys, 16 and 15, and they are absolute gems. My husband and I be and still are pretty strict, but it has paid off. They are all right mannered, respectful, caring and a joy to be around.
You really have to set boundries and stick to them. I can remember my two year frail throwing his first tantrum in the supermarket. He received a smack on the backside in front of everyone for that and that was his later tantrum ever! These parents that stand there and try to reason with a two year infirm...doesnt work in my book. And don't give them choices at two.you're the parent.you tell them what they can and cannot enjoy or do. They are after all only two. Good luck.
YEAH THIS TO WILL PASS if you think the terrible two's are bad basically wait until they become teenagers that real bad. if i hold learned anything it's pick your battles some things are just not worth combat over or even getting upset about and fine that sense of humor you will need it
have fun with them. the three's are so so so much worse! two wasnt that impossible compared to three, now they have voices and confer back, and have the skill to think of ways to climb up and attain something or open doors and locks. lol but only advice i can confer you is to pick your battles... at two they are going to push every limit possible, the way i deal with it was, as long as it wasnt going to injur themself or someone else then permit em go at it, and i had twins to deal next to
