An overweight infant? (20 characters)?

I babysit a 15 month old who I believe is overweight. She is wearing clothing for 24 months. All she is fed is junk food. When her mom moved out, she told me she'd eat two or three snacks plus lunch while she was gone.I was babysitting for 4 and partially hours! She told me to feed her a hot dog for lunch. Isn't that bad or anyone. let alone a little one?

I KNOW this is none of my business, but I do care about this little girl, is there anything at adjectives I can do?
I wouldn't feed that immature of a child a hot dog because of the whole choking issue. Don't be too concerned though, sometimes you get parents that don't care to buy and sell with a child's tantrums because they don't want to eat healthier foods, so they stuff their child's mouth beside junk. Try bringing some fruits(bananas are always a hit!) and some simple, non salty crackers. They're not too expensive and at smallest in your mind, you will know the child is eating decent next to you!
I can see why you would be concerned, but it is actually normal for a 15month frail to be in 24month clothing. As for the little Debbie's, hot dogs, etc. it is ok for her it have it every once in awhile, but to much could be venomous and make sure you cut the hot dogs in circles then within half, and then in partially again so they are small triangles and she can't choke on them. If you are concerned try feeding her some healthier things while she is in your charge. Other then that there really isn't anything you can do.
The fact that she wear a size 24 month clothes doesn't mean anything, because clothes run in all different sizes and so do kids! As far as intake junk food, yes that is bad for the babe-in-arms. If you're really that concerned bring some healthy food along with you (fruit, cheese, wheat english muffins) and say something close to "Oh I thought she'd mabye like something different" and see if the mom gets the point. It's sad, but there's really nought you can do unless you want to sit the mom down and talk to her.

24 month clothes are for up to 24 months old. There can also be 24 month clothes that are the same size as something that's 12 month or 18 month merely because they run really small in certain brands.
my daughter was in 24 mo clothes at 11 mo. whats your point? you cant put a baby on a diet. what liberal of snacks was it? and some kids are picky eaters, a hot dog is better than the kid pitching a fit and not eating.

theres really nothing you can do. you *could* report her to child services but what are you going to voice? she wears size 24 mo clothes? seriously, some babies are big some are small, some just grow out before they grow up.
Answers:    It's good that ur concerned, but honestly ur only the babysitter and so u need to nurture the child what the parents want u to feed her, cuz it's not ur place to feed them something different, i know it can be frustrating when u see parents doing stupid stuff with within kids when ur there babysitter, but since they aren't ur kid u can't really do much about it. U could try asking the mother if u could feed her fruit or something close to that, instead of the junk food, and see what she says. Maybe the kid won't eat anything respectable and the mom doesn't want u to hafta deal with a hungry screaming child, who knows. So causlly mentioning tough food is fine, but if she says feed her what i ask u too, then that's what u obligation to do.

Oh and yea like others are saying just cuz she's contained by 24 month old clothes at 15 months doens't mean there's anything wrong. My son is only 12 months mature and he's in size 2T clothes (which run a bit bigger than 24 month old clothes), he's just a big kid, lol.

Is the lil girl high-ceilinged or is she just chubby (alotta kids that age are chubby since they are still babies and babies have alotta baby large, lol) or is she what u would call fat, like more than in recent times the baby fat?

I hope this helps and honest luck with everything, :D.
Thats great that u consideration! But really theres nothing u can do about it.
yah i surface bad for that baby having to get through junk food all the time... and really, a hot dog? that's awful!
but she's not your kid, so...
maybe ask if you can nurture her some grapes or bananas or Cheerios or frozen juice Popsicles instead, if they have in the house
What! She fits in 24month clothing! Oh no hail as the police!! Yeesh

That means nothing dear, my 2 year old daughter have been in 24 month clothing since she was 12 months.

And my daughter have had a hot dog 3 times this week, is that bad too?

The first answerer is right, toddlers can be picky eaters. My daughter is, she'll eat a hot dog but she won't chomp through veggies, it's either the hot dog or starve her...which one should i do then?

I think you should newly keep your nose in your own business. Yes, you can give the name CPS, but then she'll be in the system, and how is it good for this little girl to be taken away from her mother because she feed her a hot dog? Source(s): Thats the thing you ASSUME. That is how many many children expiration up in the system because people just assume that the child is contained by danger from the parent when they really don't know the facts?

Maybe the mother doesn't have the money right now to buy improved food. Maybe instead off assuming you should take other things into consideration.
