14 month prehistoric not rather walking?
I asked this in N&B as well but I would like to find several answers. My baby boy is 14 1/2 months old and is not walking yet. It is strange because for the final couple of weeks he has taken about one step per day and for the concluding 3 days he took 3 steps at a time once per day. With my first son the moment he figured out he could take steps he be practicing and practicing until he was running weeks later! He is really steady and when he is mad he stands up and fly (in anger!) and actually gets both feet rotten the ground and lands on his feet without falling. haha. He just doesn't realize how confident it would be to walk. I guess I am just looking for other parents stories of when their kids started to walk. I know he will do it when he feel comfortable. Also, he can say mommy, daddy, uh-oh, oh man, boom, and thank you. I am freaking amazed! My older son didn't say momma till he be 18 months old. I don't even think my son is advanced by any means I newly am not used to a kid who talks on track. I think that be just a bragging moment!
I think he is working on his verbal skills not walking skills...my daughter didn't tramp till 13 months due to her needing tubes in her ears to relieve the fluid buildup...relax he will run soon...
My son have only just started walking everywhere in the end month and he is 16 months. He was taking a few steps when he was 13 or 14 months but he just wouldnt amble!! He prefered to crawl! But now, He walks EVERYWHERE!! He was my most recent out of 3 to walk. Source(s): mum of 3
I wouldn't worry too much about the walking, especially if he's making an attempt and making some progress. Some kids take for a time longer because they're working on other skills. My daughter walked late, but she's pretty advanced verbally. her twin brother walk sooner but doesn't speak nearly as well as she does.
If he wasn't even trying to walk it might be time to worry, but if he's making an stab, he'll probably just get up and take sour one day.
I can only speak about you the exoerience i am having with my 13 mth old daughter..
She doesn't crawl or even approaching being on her front and she won't stand for longer than a few seconds so there is definately no sign of walking for a while, but she can read out about 30+ words. She sings along to the telly programmes and will try to say almost anything i ask her to.
All babies do things at there own stride, if they are slow with 1 thing they may be advanced at others. I wouldn't worry, i'm not. Just savour!

Answers: its okay to brag... i do all the time :) My son on the other hand talk really well for his age (he was saying 9 words or so and 14 mo...) but amazingly..not walking..i honestly have a sneaking suspicion that it was because we carried him a lot, and he was apathetic..the thought of walking wasnt appealing to him, because we would just go pick him up if we wanted him to stir somewhere (instead of leaving him in the floor to make his road to us..) he was really late crawling too... but my daughter on the other hand is 14mo right immediately, she says dada, byebye, and riley..(her brand new sissys name..im impressed *bragging too..*) but have been walking since she was 9mo old..its unusual..every kid is dif, but my son was 2 days short of 15mo old before he started walking.. :( i thought he be never going to walk..and then he did, and he was into everything..lol..u know how it go this isnt your first rodeo either.. ;) good luck..he will start walking soon enough... :)
