14 month kid won't munch through, is it OK to donate him vitamins?
The 14 month baby barely eats food. He merely eats a little bit of finger snacks which don't have complete nutrition. I really want him to be capable of get a good balanced nutrition, but next to him being such a picky eater it is difficult. Is it OK to give him like a gummy multivitamin?
My pediatrician recommended putting polyvisol (it's liquid vitamins you can find at Wal-mart or Target) in my son's milk once a light of day after he turned 1. Gummy vitamins are not recommended for children under the age of 2. Try polyvisol.
This is in response to the last answers given almost the PolyViSol liquid vitamin. According to my 14 month old daughter's Pediatrician, that liquid vitamin is not needed anymore AFTER she/he is a year old. That should have been given to your child the in one piece first year, not after the first year. That is what I was told.
As for ideas on food that he would eat, here are a few things I serve to my 14 month frail, Emma. Example for breakfast, a piece of toast, or pancake, or a bagel (cut up in little bite size pieces, and a fruit cup, they are made by Dole, and she absolutely loves fruit. Or I cut up some banana, or slice grapes in partially. The good thing about the fruit cups, and is that it is already adjectives diced up in the perfect size. I make everything within bite size pieces, she loves to feed herself, so it works out perfect. Other snacks and food I give is goldfish crackers, grilled cheese( cut up), sliced American cheese, Fruit liquid that is low in sugar (Mott's for Tots), Elbow macaroni noodles(any pasta she loves), She also loves the Gerber Graduate meals, and Chef Boyrdee spaghetti meal. I try to feed her what we are eating for the most part, but she eat what she likes I guess. But for the most part, she eats in good health. Hope this helps!
Answers: They do enjoy vitamins for babies... not sure if the gummy ones would be good for a 14 month old though unless he can chew very okay. I would suggest you talk to his pediatrician first.
NOOO!
He is too young for a full chewable... they do hold liquid drops for babies that you can give him.
At 2 years old Some chewable vitamins allow you to endow with ON HALF tablet. But he is still TOO YOUNG for that.
