My 15 month babe-in-arms boy is other squealing and not really speaking is this majority?
I am a speech pathologist and a mom of 3. "Squealing" is not typical at any age. By 10-12 months of age children use a lot of jargon- speaking in gibberish, using sounds and syllable strings as if it is real speech. This is practice and it is regular. By 12-15 months typical kids begin to say a few real words.
Here is a connect to the booklet from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) about normal language nouns, as well as suggestions of how to stimulate kids' language.
