Toddler & Sleep Patterns?
My son is just over 13 months old. He has other slept well through the night, usually 7pm till 7am. He usually has 2 daytime nap aswell of around 1 hour each.
Lately, he doesn't seem interested in an afternoon sleep...but if he does sleep on an afternoon, when we put him to bed at 7pm...he plays in his cot awake till about 9pm and then finally falls asleep.
He isnt strong-willed with it and just sits quietley and plays.
Did anyone have this evolve when there child changed from a baby to a toddler??
Do you think this is a clear message to pocket away the afternoon nap?

my dear friend my son did the same entity that you are talking about. what we did is let him do his point .just as long he is not doing some thing that he should not be doing.as long he is playing it ok.are Doctor said that as long he not crying then permit him be.just don't let him mix up his days and nights.that would not be angelic.will good luck to you. your friend fred
I would assume so. Give it a try for a week and see if he starts going to bed at 7pm again. He might be too resourcefully rested from all the napping. Its great though that he just self soothes himself to sleep and sits quietly and plays. So you may not call for to change anything. Maybe putting him down at 8pm instead, having 7-8 be kind of a interweave down period, soothing time with just him and you reading a story? Wind his little mind down and later bedtime? Good luck, but all kids work out not having many nap the older they get,
That's strange -- usually it's the morning nap that disappears and the afternoon nap remains -- but I would say try it and see if it help. Good luck!
are you giving him juice later contained by the afternoon.? sugary treats? this happens with my son.. if so give him the liquid in the morning.. and keep him up until right after lunch and take him down to 1 siesta.. hopefully that should work.
Answers: He is giving you a very clear signal that he is ready for 1 forty winks now. Most babies change to 1 nap around a year of age and lift it after an early lunch at first and gradually move it until lunch can be at noon and naptime from 12:30 til 2:30 or so Source(s): professional nanny for 37 years

naps and sleep patterns change as kids grow. don't bear away his nap. at night, read him a story or sing nursery rhymes on his bedtime. then agree to him play in his own until he falls asleep.
