15 month ancient sudden trouble sleeping?

I would say he's anxious. My daughter is now 18mo and we just get over that same issue. When she was about 8 wks old, she be sick and the only way she would sleep was if I be holding her. Unfortunately, she got used to it and would scream if I put her in her crib (yep, I held her for adjectives naps AND at night for almost 10 months!). At her 12mo well check, her pedi suggested we do the following (always check beside your own MD before doing anything): For three nights, we gave her a half-dose of Benadryl since her bath. We developed a strict routine (bath, brush her teeth, get PJ's on, read a book, put on music, and into bed). By the time we were geared up to put her into her crib, the Benadryl had already made her just sleepy enough to not nouns. I would never recommend giving meds and was leary to do it, but after 12 months of neither of us getting quality sleep, I was ready to try. The first night, she cried for 21 minutes before falling asleep. The second night she cried for underneath 3 minutes and the third night, she was asleep before I not here the room. Now she goes right to sleep at her nap and at bedtime; no rocking her for hours thru the night (unless I want to! :) ). Sorry this answer is getting novel-sized ~ long story short, babies/toddlers obligation routines to make them feel comfortable and perhaps starting a bedtime routine will sustain lessen any anxiety your little man may have about sleeping alone. Good luck!
edit* I almost forgot...make sure he's getting sufficient nap(s) and going to bed rash (which will help him sleep better). At this age, they need 12-14hrs of sleep every day. Source(s): Mommy
Our daughter is 2, and have recently started waking up again 3-4 times during the night. She be teething about a month ago, and she would wake up hurting so I would go within her room and either pat her back or give her more Motrin. Now that the teeth are within, she was so used to seeing me during the night, that she still wakes up. I just this minute came to the conclusion that when I walk in the room, she is "playing me." In other words, she lays down the minute I stride in the room and waits for the back rub. I know that my daughter isn't hurting, so as sturdy as it is I left her to cry it out. It took her a couple of nights to realize that I wasn't coming, but it worked. She is now sleeping soundly through the hours of darkness.
