Dental work while pregnant? PLEASE HELP!?

I'm 16 weeks and 4 days pregnant, and I have a HORRIBLE tooth ache. My back molar is broken, beyond repair and requests pulled. It hasn't bothered me until now. It's excruciating pain, on a scale of 1 to 10, it's a 1000! I can't pinch the pain anymore.

Has anyone ever had a tooth pulled while pregnant? Is it safe? I know near is the risk of infection after a tooth is pulled, and the risk of a dry socket, but this pain is unbearable.

Anyone been in attendance before? Advice please! Thank you!
I am 26 weeks pregnant and had dental work done 2 weeks ago.
Your OB will notify you to visit your dentist at least once because Pregnant women are more pron to infections because of the increased blood flow.

I had 15 X rays done and they covered me beside a shield and cleaned and polished my teeth.

Go to your dentist. It will make you feel better
Any medications they would use for any dental procedure are totally fine. . . simply let them know you're pregnant. Local anesthetics do not really enter the blood stream or affect your baby. Pain medications they would dispense afterwards are also fine as long as taken as prescribed and not for longer than necessary. Antibiotics should also be taken to prevent / treat any infection that could occur. Source(s): RN, OB
Answers:    You can have dental work done, you just hold to make sure you tell the dentist that you're pregnant & how far along you are.

But doctors actually reccommend you hang on to up with your dental work during pregnancy... alot of women have or develop dental issues when pregnant
