She's fine. My friends daughter is 6 months old and she still does that fairly alot. If you get too worried though, don't hesitate in taking her to your GP.
This is only if you are bottle feed:
Try to lay her ON HER SIDE (very important) on your left arm (in the lenght of your arm) so that her legs are under your armpit and her head is resting contained by the palm of your hand.
Keep her in this position than give her the bottle near your right hand. This way the milk will flow only slowly.
Also check that the hole on the bottle teat is not too big so that milk flow is too vigorous for her. Source(s): My son was 12 weeks premature and before he came home from hospital they tought me this method that worked really economically!
Answers: If you bottle nurture, check the flow of the nipples. Use the slow flow if you aren't already. My son was born at 37 weeks 1 day, and he swallowed fluid and got pneumonia. They would not permit you leave if there was anything wrong. Look at her rib coop. If she is struggling to breathe, call the Dr. If not, you are just worrying which is completely normal. I lately had my 5th and still worry. Good luck! Source(s): mom of 5
They wouldn't have sent her home from the hospital if her lungs weren't fully mature. I reflect it's pretty normal for babies to choke a bit when they're that young, her mechanisms are adjectives brand new, after all.
She's not really a premie baby. 37 weeks is a full term baby =] and your babe-in-arms would have been born at just going on for 37 weeks...
She's fine. That happens with babies. Just watch her and if you catch worried talk to her doctor.
