Is a spinal anaesthetic prickly?
Also do most doctors do a horizontal incision for a c-section rather than a vertical? Don't mean to sound vain but I own enough surgery scars without adding up more :( xx
Yes, but it's not nearly as scratchy as labor and delivery! :)
And yes, most doctor do horizontal incisions these days. If you're having a c-section, collaborate to your dr and find out what kind he does.
Good luck and congrats! :) Source(s): Experience and in the health area.
I had a c-section 10 weeks ago. The spinal was really relatively painful, but once it's in the pain stops almost instantly.
The incision be horizontal (which it usually is, unless there's a medical reason for it to be vertical). The scar is nowhere near as desperate as you might expect and is very low down. Low enough to be covered by all but the tiniest double act of pants.
Hope everything goes well for you ! :)
Answers: The initial spinal can be slightly uncomfortable, but not painfull. Once it has kicked in, it's glory!! The majority of c-sections thesedays are with a horizontal incision. This is usually done as low down as possible so that any scarring will be hidden beneath your underwear or bikini.. It's very in danger of extinction to have a vertical incision..
i dont remember either and epidural or spinal block being painful. yes the incision for a c-section is horizontal, not a soul will see it because its covered by your pants.
