12 week appt they couldnt find heartbeat and they did a pap smear so is my child departed?
i never had a pap smear b4 thats why they did it.
and im also on the bigger side in my stomach so could that be why they couldnt hear it?
and they scheduled a ultra nouns on tuesday.
and he didnt seemed concerned at all sooo yeah do u think the babys okay?

A pap smear won't kill your newborn, that's a myth. How would they hear it on ultrasound? You mean see it? If they don't find the heartbeat on the ultrasound by 12 weeks and you come back again and it's not there later it sounds like you miscarried. If they tried to hear it on doppler and couldn't hear it at 12 weeks that's normal. You aren't guranteed to hear it until you are 14 weeks.
Don't stress out, it's normal, the babe probably wasn't in the right position.

Ok, they checked for a heartbeat near a doppler. You still might very well be fine. I was assuming that they did an ultrasound and didn't find anything. The OB I go to just used an ultrasound every time, no Doppler.
Being larger could also have a big impact on hearing it. I wouldn't lose hope a moment ago yet!
I wouldnt be too worried until your ultrasound. At my 12 week appointment it took my midwife a while to find the heartbeat and when she did she lost it after a while. she said it will be easier as I progress. I had my ultrasound earlier that daylight so i already knew the baby was okay. try not to stress to much ok? Source(s): 15w2d
yes your waight could play a roll in it, i have that problem myself but they all ways went and got the ultrasound piece of equipment. but if they did and pap and didnt say nothing then you should be ok
