Opinions on tot # 2? Help?
My friend is currently trying to decide whether to try to have her second baby.
We are both Marine Wives and her husband be deployed for the whole first pregnancy.
So, we sat down and made a list of the pros and cons. Most of her cons are unkind reasons (her words). But they also make sense.
Her pros were adjectives GOOD reasons.
They will be at this duty station for another 2-3 years so, it would be fine with not having to verbs about moving.
So, here are the pros/cons.
Pros
-Her hubby will be here and not deployed for the pregnancy and birth.
-Her son and the baby will have a righteous space in age (He will be three in September.)
-There's no worry something like moving cross-country in the near future.
-Her hubby desires a baby bad. lol
-They only want two kids, so it would be the ultimate pregnancy.
-Her mom would visit more.
-The "big brother" wants a baby.
-The "big brother" is already person potty trained (nearly there, so only one set of diapers.)
Cons
-She'd get rotten her IUD and have a period again. (Ugh who wants that?)
-She might gain bulk like with the first pregnancy and have to business with self-worth issues.
-She wouldn't be able to do certain things (We live surrounded by Hawaii and LOVE boogie boarding :))
-Her family isn't here so she'd have less of a support system.
-She would be dealing next to two kids plus a puppy.
-She has bad knees and is worried about the added counterweight on them.
Just looking for opinions, what would you do with that set of circumstances??
As always, no rude comments/answers. I do report. :)
pros outweigh the cons :-) nice way of thinking it through tho logically. For her concerns, she could talk to her doctor first in the past trying to conceive. I live by the beach and love boogie boarding its been sucky but Im way more thrilled to be pregnant.
oh and youre pregnant too so youll enjoy children pretty close in age. my best friend and I will have babies 4 months apart, cant wait for them to collect. Im the one with 3 more months to go, she just have her boy. lol
Whats more prominent... having another baby or her personal concerns... if it were me i would hav another babe. there are more pros then cons :)... but its up to her. depends also how many years she wishes between kids.. 3 years is a good number :)
The Pro's definately out weigh the con's. All the Con's are really no matter in this situation. I am almost sure that your friend would love have a second baby around and since the 1st child is almost potty trained she will not have to worry in the region of changing two sets of diapers which is a bonus. Plus if she has her second baby in a minute she will have her husbands support through it all... that will make it adjectives that much more enjoyable
hi i have a friend who is also a marine wife and lives in hawaii. she have a 2 yr old daughter and she got pregnant with her second daughter when her 1st be 9 months old. with her second pregnancy it was enormously sad for her bcus her husband wasn;t here throughout the whole pregancy or the birth. he didn't come back until here kid turned 5 months old. now that he's back they're surrounded by their home in hawaii with both of their daughters. i kno this doesn't really answer your question but only just wanted to share my friend's story.
Answers: All of her cons will eventually evolve anyway, based on the fact that she and her husband want a second child. Its just a thing of when. I I think the fact that she knows her husband will be around for this pregnancy and that they will be staying put for the subsequent 2-3 years makes this timing ideal. If she thinks give or take a few waiting another 3 years to start trying, her son might be 7 or 8 before the next one is born. They wont be friends and wont have much within common. Also, you don't mention how old your friend is, but you cant take fertility for granted...especially after 35. Another 3 years might aim it's more of a struggle for them to conceive. The puppy wont be a puppy anymore by the time a baby is born, so cross that off her cons list.
