19, have a toddler this drip, and wanting to step final to college to gain my RN?

Getting pregnant so young was a huge shock to me & my boyfriend - it was immensely unplanned. I have planned on going to college to get my RN for years and already went to tech conservatory to get my PCT (patient care technician) My boyfriend and I have be together for 3 years and we are very happy about the birth of our little babe girl this October (once we got over the shock!) Hes a great guy, hes an HVAC apprentice & makes very right money for his age.

Going back to school stresses me out just thinking in the region of it. Its going to be so hard, and I dont want to miss out on my baby girl growing up because I'm always gone at academy & work. Should I try to go back sooner or later? Any young at heart moms out there have any words of advice around managing school, work, and being a good mommy?

Once I found I be pregnant everyone in my family immediately go on "her life is over" drive & said how I would never get my career and that my energy would be a struggle. I want to prove them wrong - BUT HOW! :(
whatever you may think you need your trade. try getting on a part-time prog or taking less credits at a time so that you can have time near you baby. though school will now cart longer.
Your life is not over! It's going to be more difficult now but no where on earth near over! I am still working full time (I'm 20) I have withdrawn from classes until further notice purely bc I don't have time for it. I wish I did! I'm hoping one day I will. But you can do it. Don'tlet them say-so you can't. You just will have to learn time guidance better than the rest of us!
possibly PT college PT working. i know a girl that wants to be a RN and she complains about the cost of daycare so she says that she will hang about until her youngest goes to school. her man makes allot of money i hear... i know most colleges enjoy a daycare center but that would be a decision for the parents to make.
you will be a busy mom that's for shure. well i hope your adjectives is bright and you can check off that goal of yours. if u cannot handle going for RN you can still sort a ok living from the tech college stuff.
You are not a failure if u feed your child!
I'm 20 and going for my Joint Baccalaureate Nursing Degree. I'll be resuming in January. My baby is due October 4th and I figured I could start surrounded by September with online courses but then I thought it's not worth it. So what if I have to lift a class or two during the summer. I'd rather spend the first few months completely on my baby :-).

So, it's really up to you. If you're eager to bring started and get going with school afterwards go for it. You can always drop the classes and get a discount if you thinks it's too much. But personally I'll be waiting until 2nd semester to begin.

Best of luck !! :-)
Answers:    I was 20 when I had my daughter, and was already enrol in nursing school. I truly believe that finishing my degree be the best thing I could have ever done for me and my daughter. I thought her dad would always be around to back us out, but when she was about a year old, we split up, disappearing me a single parent. If it wasn't for my nursing degree, I don't know how we ever would have made it!

Yes, going to school and raise a child is hard, hard, hard work, but within the end it's worth it. It's an amazing feeling, knowing that in this world, next to the way the economy is, I'll always hold a job somewhere that pays good money, and I'll be able to provide for my child.

You can draw from financial aid to help you with the costs of school and life span. You can send your child to daycare while you're in class, and leave him/her nearby a couple of hours longer than necessary so that you can study and finish up school work. Between your friends and family, I'm sure you will own plenty of people who will be willing to watch the tot for an hour or two so you can catch up on what needs to be done.

Nursing school is HARD. It take a lot of time, work, and dedication. Make sure it's something you really want to do and something you will set your mind to accomplishing before you throw yourself into it.

Good luck, and if you obligation anyone to talk to, email me!
