Heartbeat detect twins?
My last period was June 21st and I've already go to my family doctor and got the bloodtest to confirm I am pregnant. I have an appointment to group an OB/GYN August 17th. I am wondering if by then I can hear the heartbeat, or atleast see it on the sonogram and if that could tell if I am having twins, which run within my mothers and fathers side of the family.
They wont be able to hear a heartbeat until around 14 weeks.
Twins sometimes skip a generation too
You should be at 8 weeks i give attention to exactly be the 17th. I think it's too early to hear the heartbeat, but they WILL be able to do the sonogram, where on earth they can see the heartbeat on the little screen. When I had mine, my OBGYN specifically said, "we do this to check for more than one heartbeat"... so there ya shift! Source(s): my own 8 week appt! :)
Answers: you will most likely not hear it, but you should definently see it. i saw my two little heart beating at a 7 week ultrasound, didn't hear it till 16 week ultrasound. goodluck to you. Source(s): 32 weeks pregnant with identical twin boys
