What is on your registry ?

Do/Did you have one ?

Did people stick to it ?

What did you do about gifts you didn't want or requirement ?
We had registries but it was bottles, and toys and diaper plenty, the accesories basically. You will get clothes diapers and wipes, those are givens!
I have one with in the region of 98 things on it. My shower is in 2 weeks and so far no one's bought from it. (aside from the short notice) I let everyone know I had it except for the father's side of the nearest and dearest, I dont think they really know much about it so im worried about duplicates. If I get hold of dups, Ill probably keep it or give it to someone who needs child stuff.
Answers:    I made sure to think, "am I REALLY going to use this?" for each item I registered for. If I knew I wouldn't use it later I didn't register for it. I also tried to register for things at all different price levels to accommodate those attending. Here's what I put on mine:

-Monitor
-Cabinet safe locks and outlet plug protectors
-Waterproof laundry heaps (for diapers, burp rags, soiled baby clothing)
-variety of different toys at different prices. I tried to get toys for until around 18 months
-baby towels near little hoodies on them
-pack of bibs
-diaper bag
-changing mat
-Pack n go bag for jar of baby food and bottles
-storage trays for breast milk and baby food (they are essentially ice cube trays next to little covers - you put them in your freezer to save the food/milk for later)
-baby food cookbook
-bathtime essentials gift set
-What to Expect The First Year
-breastfeeding book
-nursing cover up
-grooming and vigour care set
-baby bath tub
-little floor play gym
-a 'support cushion' - you can use it to help you nurse and to serve the baby sit up
-infant carrier you can wear on your back or on your chest
-2 different styles of infant slings
-waterfall soother for the crib
-crib, crib mattress, and crib sheets
-bassinet
-bouncer
-swing
-2 baby gates
-high chair
-glider rocker next to ottoman
-car seat
-car seat cover

Notice that I didn't put clothes or blankets on it. I've been to abundantly of baby showers and the women always got a TON of those items. I plan on shopping second appendage for many of the clothes anyway. I also didn't put a breast pump because I figured if I needed one I'd go out and bring one myself. I made sure to put a lot of $10-$30 items on the list because money is tight right now for closely of people. You may also get a lot of acquaintances or distant home members who will attend and they might not want to spend a lot. I figure the big ticket items will be purchased be the soon-to-be grandparents or by my husband and I.

I singular registered for items I imagined myself truly using - if I don't picture myself using it then I didn't register for it. For example, I personally hate shifting a baby on a changing table. I prefer to do it on a mat on the floor, especially once the baby get older and can roll around. That's what I feel personally. You may enjoy some little things you can't stand using as well. Maybe you'd rather use a large purse than a standard diaper backpack or something - really think of what you'd use
I had one. We even put the places I was registered at on the invites. I get less than half on my registry. Most people basically picked things out on their own.

I still kept everything, since I could find a use for it all.
i was registered at walmart. my baby shower is sunday. so far no one have used it. you can take the gifts back and they will put it on a gift card that agency you can exchange for what you do want. :) i just had normal small stuff cuz we already get our own big stuff, ( like crib, etc)
