How doomed to failure am I dry and should the doctor do something?
I went into the doctor's office because at 15 weeks pregnant I have be having some light contraction light cramping and cloudy urine and burning while I peed. I thought maybe I had a UTI. Turns out I don't but my ketones was at 40. The doctor said she be concerned about my dehydration.
I am concerned because I have already been hospitalized once for dehydration this pregnancy and I don't want to be again. Is 40 for ketones bleak? She was going to keep talking, but I asked her a different cross-examine and we got sidetracked. I am working on fluids, but I didn't know if I should watch out for signs of worsening dehydration and what that would be. What do yall think?
40 ketones is very unpromising. you should have no ketones at all. I think you may call for to be hospitalized and placed on IV fluids.
You hold to make sure you drink enough! 8 glasses of hose a day.or 4 glasses of water and 4 eyeglasses of juice...or whatever, just drink greatly of water and other non-caffeinated drinks and you'll be ok. I've been pregnant 4 times, it's easy to achieve dehydrated, but you really have to be mindful of it.
If you can pinch the skin on the back of your mitt and it's doesn't bounce back the way it was right away...approaching it stays pinched for a couple seconds, you're too dehydrated.
Why are you dehydrated? Morning sickness? Call the doctor's organization if you can't keep fluids down. If you can keep them down drink up!
Honestly,I think you need to drink some Pedialyte. It may be made for kids, but you need something better to hydrate yourself right immediately than just plain water.
Drink some water...
you should drink a lot of gatorade i hear its really good for you when your dehydrated.
ugh stupid question only just drink lots of water
hose down water water,, drink plenty of it, gatorade would be great for this too
Answers: Ketones are not supposed to be within your urine at all hun.
Did he tell you that you also have glucose present within your urine?
Usually when ketones are in you urine it is because you are diabetic. It can also be from starvation and very severe stress. If the ketones are just from dehydration afterwards you REALLY need to replace some fluids.
Your doc needs to monitor this more closely, too much fluid is no good any.
Ketones in urine come from a breakdown of fat rather the glucose.
Keep an eye on this hun, I would be concerned too.
have had 3 children and i get hyperemisis with all three which is basically the worst open-handed of morning sickness you can get and it last all nine months, i've even have my kidneys shut down because of it. So as you can imagine i've had to deal near dehydration ALL the time. The best things to drink are pedialyte, gatorade, and powerade because the have lots of electrolytes which is what your body loses when you are dehydrated. Also besides those water is polite too but not as effective. DO NOT drink anything with caffeine or lots of sugar such as sodas teas that are sweetened with sugar (green tea is okay) kool aids juice. These will only worsen your dehydration not help it. Drink all daylight long even if you are not thirst and eat salty foods as it helps your body retain wet and therefore will help keep you from dehydrating more. IF you start to mind that you are not peeing as much or the cramping gets worse and doesn't go away go to your local er and they will impart you some fluids to help get your body back to typical than you can keep it hydrated with all the things i told you past. good luck hun pay close attention to yourself :) Source(s): mommy to 5yr old daughter, 4yr infirm son, 1yr old daughter, and 4 and 1/2 weeks pregnant with number 4. Keep your fingers crossed for me i'm hoping against very stacked likelihood for a boy!! :)
