Are you or did you dub your tot after anyone special to you?

Growing up I was a mama's girl but I was always beside my Gammy and Pappy. My Gam's always loved the name Gwendolynn and she told me that I needed to name my first child if it is a girl Gwendolynn so she can ring up her Winnie. She died 5 December 2008 and my Peanut is due 6 December 2009. My baby was conceived on 15 March 2009 and Gams birthday was 14 March. It's newly a small conspiracy to me.

Her name was Ruby Irene Elizabeth.
The names I enjoy picked out are Gwendolynn Ruby Raine and Zoie Irene Raine.

The further along I get the more emotional I am and it makes me really catastrophic that Gam's and Pappy isn't going to be here. ]: So, I am now leaning to Gwendolynn again instead of Zoie. Yeah, some may think that it is too long or I am trying to rock-hard for my child to have a unique name. But, to me it have some what of a meaning... If that makes any kind of sense.

Are you or did you nickname your baby after someone special to you?
i like gwendolynn better.

and i named my babe adisen lillian adams. lillian is her dadd's great grandmother.
If we had a boy we were going to pet name him Marvin Lewis, my bf promised his grandfather on his deathbed that his first boy would be named after him. I dont have a problem with it!
We are have a girl Raelynn Ann Marie
Rae- aunts middle name
Lynn moms middle name, his aunts name
Ann- My grandmas middle autograph, his moms middle name, his sisters middle name
Marie- my sisters middle name (rip 1993)
I love it, and my boyfriend does too!
Yes, we're gonig to name our infant (if it's a boy) after his my husband, because not only does my hubby have a beautiful pet name, but it also means a lot. My hubby is the best guy in the world, and he's a true sweetheart & he's my everything. If we own a boy, when he grows up, he's going to be just like his father and make some girl a amazingly happy woman someday. :) But yeah, My husband's name is a great name, and he's special to me, so yeah. If it's a boy, he'll be name after his father, not jsut for tradition, but because of what I mentioned above. Source(s): 18 weeks & 2 days pregnant with Miracle number 1.
i named my daughter after her grandma (audrey) her aunt (ann) which came out aryanna

her middle entitle was from my middle name (lanea) which came from my mother

my daughter's mark is Aryanna Lanae

if i ever have another daughter, she will be named after someone in my family circle. not the exact name, but a variation
wow there really close what a sign u should make available her the name ur gma picked
I was name after 2 of my great-grandmas. My grandma names were Lora Alice and Katie Marie. I am Lora Marie, and now my daughter is Katie Alice. And the signature fits her just perfect, especially when I yell, "Katie Alice, receive over here!"
Thats really sweet. :) Im naming my newborn boy Devonte Le'Ray Apple. Ray is my dads middle name and Lee is my hubbys middle name as well as his father. Funny thing is, my baby is due on the same daylight that my dad died. I know what it means to want to do something special. And i say go for it. Gwendolynn is a vastly pretty name. :)
Im having a girl,
My dads moniker was Alexander Hendrix Hall.
He died when i was young.
In memory of him i am naming my girl
Jocelyn ALEXis _____.
Just aslong as i enjoy alex in the middle name:)
That's really nice =]

We're naming our son after his daddy Anthony. As for his middle name, I thought about giving him my late father & brother's label which is Walter but we love the name Lucien plus I don't care for how Anthony Walter flows.
If it's a boy we plan on naming him after my husband's grandfather Henry. We're going to wait to find out whether it's a boy or a girl though so I guess we'll freshly have to see...
Nope we are not naming out child after someone special to us. Our son's name will be Jarrett Wilder M... (last name) Jarrett because of Dale Jarrett the Nascar driver and Wilder of late because we liked the name Wilder.
I am 31 weeks with a little boy we are naming Daniel Wayne: Daniel after my husbands father and Wayne after my dad.
Answers:    Wow that is neat (the conception and due date)! So cool. I consider that is so awesome that you are naming her that. It's nice for you because it is sentimental and it is special because your grandmother liked it so much.

It's a beautiful name-so classy. It really isn't "too" incomparable or long. She may have some trouble with people wondering how to spell it, but I'm sure she'd to some extent that than have a generic name that everyone has. Haha. I really prefer Gwendolynn to Zoie, although they are both nice.>

I lately named my son "Luke Elliott" because it has a nice ring to it. I didn't really think much around tradition, like maybe putting my dads name as his middle moniker. Same with my daughter who is due August 27th. Her name has no sentimental pro, it just sounds nice.

Congrats! :)
With my first daughter we found out we were having a girl and we picked her first label Teagan because my husband's mom lost her first daughter named Teagan before she had my husband or his sister. We picked her middle entitle Alexandra because that is my husband's mother's name.
With my second daughter we were told she be going to be a boy, so we had the name Deacon Kean picked out (Kean after my father and Deacon because my father liked that name- Deacon Jones is a football player). The she be born... SURPRISE it's a girl, so we had to pick a girl's name! We picked the name Tatum because I have a good friend named Tatum pass away a year up to that time my daughter Tatum was born, and were planning on using it for our next girl, and picked her middle label Christine after my mom's first name.
We didn't necessarily pick any of these names for anyone, but we loved the names, and needed to honor our loved ones!
Now I am 26 (almost 27) weeks pregnant with quadruplets, and we just picked their names because we love them. We are using Alexis Faith, Ethan Reid, Andrew Cole, and Ella Grace!
That's really sweet. I'm naming my child after someone very close to me and the inherited middle name of my boyfriend.
I like the name Gwendolynn, she could dance by Gwen, or Winnie if she wanted. Gwendolynn Ruby Raine sounds really good.
All three of my kids were named after special society in our lives.
My daughter was named after my husbands aunt who introduced me to him. Her label is Linda Kay and our daughter is Natalie Kay. Natalie we just picked out but the Kay is after her great aunt. My oldest son holds a very special name and I wouldn't articulate one kids name is more precious to us then the other per say but I hope he realize the great men he was named after. He is named after his grandpas John Allen and Todd Andrew. They both passed away the year in the past our son was born, so to honor our fathers we named him Aiden Allen Andrew. He be going to be our last but now baby three is on it's road. Ashton James is named after my bother Christopher James and I can only hope Ashton turns out to be as great of a man as my brother is... so all my kids own special names.

It kills me that my sons will never meet their grandfathers, and I cry a great deal about loosing my dad. I cry a lot because my kids don't have any grandpa and it's hard when people mean so much to you and can't physically be in attendance for the times in your life that mean the most. Honor your grandma within some way shape or form because for some reason it just make it feel a little better.
My husband's father, Ibraheim, passed away a few years ago, so we are going to moniker our son's middle name after him.. Jordan Ibraheim... I really like the name, it grew on me, and I muse it is a very special connection my son will have near his grandpa who he will never get the chance to meet.. I would read out if you love the name, I would say go beside it, It is very sweet of you to name the your daughter after her! ...you can also go next to Zoie Gwendolynn, but I love both the names you picked out.. Go with your heart and name your toddler anything you like =) GL and Congrats!
I think you have every grounds to name your child after your gran;)
Both my parents have passed away, (They passed away when i was a youth, Im now 31) and we are using my mothers name Irene as the babys middle name if we hold a girl. My fiance has a traditional family middle name he requests to use if we have a boy, which I agree too but dont like the name (its leslie lol) but I can see how big it is to him. My brother will be using our dads name as a middle name if they have a boy so later we are carrying on both our parents names in the family
