36 weeks pregnant, 40-50% efface, <1 cm dilated, MAY own lost mucus plug-labor predictions?

I'm 36 weeks and 1 day pregnant and had an OB appt today. I had an internal exam done and they told me I am 40-50% efface and less than 1 cm dilated. They said the baby is -2 station and is dropping. Measuring 33 cm, but he said that's because the baby is dropping. They influence the baby is already 6, 6 1/2 lbs. I MAY have started losing my mucus plug tonight, I'm not sure...could just be from the internal exam. I have brown discharge and about an inch long stringy looking brownish/pink something in the toilet. Little bit of menstrual like cramping today and concluding night.
Anyone want to make a prediction of when I could go into labor? This is immensely exciting!! Ha, but I don't want to get too excited.
Also, I have group B strep so need IV antibiotics past giving birth. If I were to go into labor now, up to that time 37 weeks, would I be able to give birth vaginally or would it have to be a C piece??
Thanks, guys!
your baby will be here on the 10th or 11th of August. Congrats
who knows. You go into labor when your body is ready.
It does nouns like you started to lose some of your mucus plug. When I was 36 weeks I was 100% efface and 1 cm dialted and starting losing my mucus plug. I had my cervix scraped at 38 and 39 weeks. Went into labor at 39 weeks. Good luck!
Answers:    Who knows when you will go into labor! I was 90% efface and 2 cm dilated for 3 weeks and they finally had to induce me.

It does sound to me like you may own lost your mucus plug. You should definitely call your doctor about it, but it doesn't denote that labor is necessarily imminent. It may still be a week or two or more. But on the other hand, Group B Strep can make you predisposed to pre-term labor, too, so newly keep monitoring yourself.

And I don't think you will necessarily have to hold a C-section just because you are pre-term. You'd need IV antibiotics for a C-section, too - a C-section doesn't magically protect your baby from Group B Strep. But this is a honest question to ask your OB about, too.
