Lying on your backbone during pregnancy cause requisition and loss of consciousness.?

Today during my weekly ultra sound exam I got very dizzy, have a small seizure, and lost consciousness briefly. I came to in the adjectives position with my Dr. standing over me asking questions, the nurse pouring cold water on my collar & chest to cool me down, and my Mom freaking out. I then threw up, and while shaky, began to feel much better.

I'm 31 weeks pregnant near twins. My Dr. said I "vagaled" and should avoid lying flat on my back at all costs. My blood pressure was 100/60 previously I got on the ultra sound table.

I'm not worried or concerned, and my Dr. was in attendance. I just have a need to know details nearly everything, and I haven't been able to find any good or specific information roughly "vagaling". Can anybody explain to me better exactly what this is, and what causes it specifically? My family expects an update, and I'd like to own an idea of what I'm talking about. =) Thanks!
Answers:    I havent hear of that term specifically, but when i was preggo with my twins my dr told me to never falsehood on my back if possible after 21 weeks since they could cut off the blood flow from the aorta, by doing this it is usually more of a risk to the babies, but since you are further along, you are bigger than a single infant would be at full term, and by lying down you can restrict your blood flow to your head and the babies will smoosh some organs and make it more difficult for you to breathe since they can also smoosh your lungs as economically, and your heart is close to the middle of your lungs which can put pressure on your heart too, so im assuming he is talking about this, i was size of what a single full permanent status baby would be at 22-23 weeks and when they did my ultrasounds they let me lie sitting up a bit because when i laid flat i couldnt breathe at adjectives, i would ask if you could do this at your ultrasounds.. i wouldnt know how it feels how far along you are, i had to deliver mine at 29 weeks :)

congrats on the twins and good luck :)
I've never hear of that! Sounds scary. Sorry I have no advice.
