Does anyone own an implanon insert? how is it?

Work well ? side effects ?? Does it hurt?
Let me know thanks
Answers:    I did have implanon. I have it removed a year ago to try for another baby ( I'm almost full term )
No side affects for me, it was a god convey not having to worry about contraception. The doctor will tender you a local to numb the area before he inserts the rod, it didn't hurt, no. I never had to verbs about condoms etc for 3 years and came in handy as I didn't own to work out my cycle etc so as not to get pregnant. I would recommend it. It is progesterone only, so works just similar to the progesterone only pill. I had it taken out and successfully became pregnant the first time we started trying to conceive.
This form of birth control, while have the "icky" factor because it is inserted under your skin, is a life saver for culture who can't be on estrogen based birth control. Estrogen is in almost every birth control pill, shot, and is in adjectives morning after pills and IUDs and the like. That leaves very few options for women who cant hold estrogen based birth control.
Sure, when you first read the side effects they are freaky, but they are the same as are on any BC pill, aside from possible scarring. Yes, there will be family who cant tolerate it, but that doesnt make it a bad option for everyone. All women enjoy different bodies, and just as certain pills set certain women bad, Implanon might not be a good choice for certain people. So dont knock it because you have bad side effects - its just like any other medication: itll work for some and it wont for others
