"The risk of miscarriage is 50% up until the 8th week of pregnancy..."?

"... and after that it drops to 2-3%."

This is exactly what my doctor told me yesterday.

Is she right? I have never heard figures resembling this before.

I'm not trying to worry, just want others opinion (or fact-based information).

I'm 6 weeks along, have already seen a heart beat. Thanks.
i know here is a high risk of miscarriage in the whole first trimester of your pregnancy adjectives the way up until 12 weeks and then the percentage drops
I've heard the 50% stat, but it includes everyone who miscarried around the time they would enjoy had their period anyway and so never knew they be pregnant. Haven't heard the 2-3% statistics, though.

Last time I was pregnancy I found these stats in a medical online textbook, which I found moderately comforting:

<<The presence of an embryonic heartbeat is highly reassuring. When visualized by Low Resolution Abdominal sonography, more than 90% of pregnancies verbs. Visualization by high resolution vaginal sonography is associated with a 70% continuance rate. The apparent discrepancy is because the heartbeat is a stronger positive sign contained by the larger more advanced embryos seen by transabdominal scanning.
The rate of pregnancy loss with positive heartbeat vary with gestational age and the presence of vaginal bleeding:

-Heartbeat at < 6 week., With bleeding 33% are lost, 16% are lost if no bleeding present
-Heartbeat at 7-9 week., With bleeding 10% are lost, 5 % are lost without bleeding present
-Heartbeat at 9-11 week., With bleeding 4 % are lost, 1-2% are lost without bleeding present.

The prognosis for the living embryo improve as gestation proceeds.>>

I think it's probably logically reliable since it's a .edu address, but I'm not a doctor myself so don't really know.
I m/c twice did not I know yet i be pregnant..till it happen..i would say i was around 4 - 6 weeks
The truth is that many people miscarry without even knowing it because it happen SO early and they think it is just their term. I could have had one without knowing it, you could hold... there's just no way to know! You've seen the heartbeat though, and that is to say a good sign. I'm sure everything will be fine hon, so try to relax.
Answers:    My insight is that doctors believe that up to 50% of pregnancies end in miscarriage, but that includes all of the individuals that lose the pregnancy before their period is due and never know about it. Once you enjoy a confirmed pregnancy, it drops. Once you have seen the heart beat, it drops to 12% and continues to drop every week in that after.

I had a transvaginal u/s at week 8 and they saw the heartbeat. When the doctor met with me, he gave me the 12% after heartbeat statistic, which I own since seen on the internet.

Try not to stress too much (though its hard, isn't it?). Good luck!
I've heard that the risk drops dramatically after the completion of the 1st trimester.

I'm on week 8...
The risk of miscarriage once the heart has been seen is smaller amount than 10% based on medical studies you can look up in journals. The heart trounce is a major accomplishment, it means that all the elemental systems for life were successful so you should worry abundantly less once the heartbeat has been view.
Yes, but most people miscarry contained by the first four weeks and think the bleeding is their period.
I heard it drops dramatically at the 12th week, or unless you hear the heartbeat and everything is going fine.
