Two question within one... see counts and braxton hicks?
I am 37 weeks and 1 day pregnant with my first baby. I own been having braxton hicks contractions for about 2 weeks very soon. They have been really short and irregular ones.
Anyways, today I noticed that I wasn't intuition much movement as I usually do. So, around 5:00 I started counting the babies kicks... it's almost 8 now and I have merely counted one. I have tried sitting down, having a snack, taking a bath, lying on both my moved out and right side and walking around... and still only one in the last three hours. I am starting to carry concerned about him not moving, but I also don't want to over-react if its nothing.
Also, I am having some doomed to failure cramps not like the braxton hicks I have been have... do you guys think that these are real contractions or just my braxton hicks getting worse?
I am putting bad calling the DR or going to the hospital incase it is nothing wrong.
Just wanted to know what you guys thought.
Drink some cold hose and press on your stomach a bit.
If that doesn't get him moving, call your OB/GYN.
It is possible that he is just running out of room.
It wouldn't hurt to call for your doctor and ask. I'm sure they would appreciate it more now than @ 1 AM if you are having FALSE labor that intensifies. Sorry I don't enjoy a real answer just wanted to bring that to your attention =]

Answers: If you are going into labor it's normal for the little one to not be moving. When I went into labor with my second child it started out like menstrual cramps at 5 a.m and by lunchtime they were doubling me over. They were 3 minutes apart. Start timing your cramps and if they're coming at regular intervals it's labor. Time it for maybe an hour. If you still haven't feel the baby move then go to the ER. Who care if you're over reacting. It's your baby and the hospital people expect it.
