Q around ante-natal class?

I am 22 weeks and my ante-natal class does not do breathing techniques. The midwife who does the class said they will cover a day on breathing and stress relief during toil, but I am interested in something more along the lines of a bradley etc breathing techniques classes. My friend told me that I am expecting something like I see within the movies, and in Australia they dont do classes like that, and if you find one they are usually really expensive, is this true?. My ante-natal classes covers health, nutrition, little one care etc mostly. I am worried I wont know how to breath and push properly without learning how to prier to the toil.
Answers:    It pretty much comes naturally, and they'll just tell you to breathe boomingly, try not to let your breathing get too fast because you'll hyperventilate and lower your, and your baby's, oxygen level. The urge to push comes from your bowels, so just push as though you're trying to pass a huge BM.

Women have be giving birth without the need for expensive classes for thousands of years, it's all a money making paddle if you ask me! I've pretty much told you for free the info you'll potentially spend a small fortune to get from a class. More important is an infant/child CPR class, you're better off spending money on that than ante natal breathing classes!
90% of the time, everything you swot up goes right out the window when it's time to deliver. Moms (especially first time moms) often catch very frantic and have a hard time focusing on what they be taught. That's one reason why a lot of time and shot isn't put into teaching you how to breathe and push.

The most important thing to remember is to try to stay as silent as possible. Listen to your doctors and nurses for important instructions. And when you push, push through your bottom like you're trying to have a bowel movement.
