10 wks pregnant, what will they do at my first prenatal pop in?
ok so they told me that it may take a couple of hours at my first visit. why is this. im going to a new doctor this week for my first prenatal drop by because my other doctor was very unprofessional and didn't seem to want to do anything for me.
I dont know why they would tell you that it would take a couple of hours unless they are extremely busy. But for your first visit they should check you just to make sure everything is okay and they might even do an ultrasound and/or listen to the heartbeat.
draw blood
maybe do a quick ultrasound for due date purposes
carry insurance info
meet and greet with your new doctor.
pee contained by a cup
prescribe prenatal vitamins, go over precautions
answer your questions
they may have told you so long because you are a alien patient.
They will mainly ask you alot of questions. my first prenatal visit beside the doctor and the midwife only took around 20-30 minutes. You may or may not have a physicall exam ( I still havent had one)

Depends on the Doctor. mine took almost a good half hour. they will check your pee, take some blood for adjectives kinds of STD tests, ask you questions in the order of your lifestyle, and explain to you how the process will go.
Answers: i am currently 10 weeks 3 days , and basically had my first visit last friday and they did a pap smear and pelvic exam and i have alot of blood done , then they did a ultrasound on my belly and i got to see my little baby for the first time it be absolutely amazing ! I got very exciting and it's my first maybe thats why. good luck with everything . I be there for an hour at the most , it was too early too listen to the heartbeat , so i will seize that at my next appt .

you will pee surrounded by a cup and you will have blood work done and you will be examined. should only be there something like an hour

Measure your belly and listen to the heartbeat. Check your cervix like and if i remember right a papsmear. They also will probably do an ultrasound. They will make sure your consumption right and taking care of yourself and thats about it.
