I hold a cross-examine about anesthetic's during labor...?
With my first child 13 years ago I had an epidural which was placed wrong and I didn't feel much within regards to pain and I couldn't walk for two days after. With my second 6 years ago I have blood pressure issues with the epidural, when I was givin meds for the issue I had a burning sensation contained by my chest and front of my head. The doctor never really explained why this happened. Now I am pregnant with number 3 and I am panicky for the birth, my doctor was going to get my records from the end hospital to see what the issue was all about but she have not said anything about it I see her next week and I will ask her. Has anyone had that surface? My doctor said I may not be able to have an epidural so what do you think my option are?

I purely delivered in April and I had a HUGE issue near epidurals. I ended up having 7 and I had surely no relief. I know there are other forms of pain nouns, but im not exactly sure.
Answers: I was induced, and did not get an epidural either time, and for reason you described. I am not willing to subject myself to side effects that may or may not go away. I would rather agreement with a day of childbirth, like women hold for thousands of years.
I am not a hippie, earth child, nor do I feel that epidurals are wrong, or even that women shouldn't have local anaesthetic. I am just saying that It wasn't that bad. I should know, my boys be 9 lb 3oz, and 10 lb 3 oz. If you put your mind to it you can do it. And there are no bad side effects from not getting an epidural.
I do recommend getting a shot of painkiller for your "bottom" past the baby's head crowns. That way you dont feel any "ring of fire" and can focus on pushing. Make sure to narrate the Dr before it is time to push though, and remind her as the time gets closer.
My friend got the stuff that make you relaxed and drowsy. She did not like feeling out of control, and said she wouldn't repeat that mistake. So I guess it is up to you. Other than an epidural, here isn't much to help with pain, as far a s drugs progress. Just stuff to help you deal with it, and muddle your perception of it.
