Combained Pill grill! Help Needed?
Hi this is the first time that im using the pill and im on the comabined pill. I was just wondering are you still protected agianst pregency during your 7 day pill free break if you hold unprotected sex. I came off my first pack on friday, and since have have unprotected sex with my boyfriend, so should i be worried?. And if i dont have a bleed does that mean i should be worried and shift to the doctor?? Thanks :) x
Yes as long as you've taken it as directed you are fine, I don't know why people presume your have sex on your period as it doesn't always last the full 7 days!
As long as you have taken every pill on the dot, and not missed any, then yes you're protected on your 7 day break. It says so surrounded by the leaflet accompanying your pill.
PS The answer below is also 100% correct. If taken on the FIRST day of your period the pill is effectual immediately. Otherwise it takes 7 days to be effective. No obligation to wait months to use it as the only form of contraception. It's clear as day within the leaflet. Source(s): I use Microgynon 30 combi pill.
Answers: Yep, you're still protected, though most women don't have sex during their period. I use to before I become pregnant :p
But, just be sure to have your boyfriend or whoever wear a condom still.
Also, the pill takes a while to in reality effect you, so if you had unprotected sex, the pill didn't help you at all if you've be on it less than about two-three months. If your "bleed" (period) doesn't come soon than just thieve a pregnancy test a week or two after it was suppose to arrive.
Good luck. Source(s): 21 weeks pregnant
As others have said, you are protected the whole month.
To correct one response however, it does NOT whip 2-3 months for it to work. If you started on the first day of your last period, you are protected forthwith. If you started later, you are protected within 2-3 weeks.
hey! i think that if you have one and only just started taking the pill it would probably be a good idea to use extra contraception for somewhat while until your body settles down, but i am pretty sure that you should still be covered during the pill free 7 days! wait and see what happens, speak to the doctor if you dont come on but be aware the pill can make your period irregular at first so dont panic too much :)

You are still protected while on your 7 year break, so long as you have been taking your pills correctly.
