FMLA sound out sustain please!?
Ok I am 25 weeks pregnant and I have been at my employer for over a year and I meet adjectives the requirement for FMLA. My son will have to have surgery in going on for two weeks and I know I can only take leave once contained by a 12 month period so I was planning on taking it and then newly going back after the baby is born.So my question is if I give somebody a lift FMLA does my employer have to continue to give me my benefits (i.e. insurance, short/long possession disability, vol. life)? I live in NC and I can't find much info online. Any advice would be great, Thanks in finance!!
Answers: FMLa can be split up and is a combined total of up to 12 weeks. So you could take 6 weeks for the surgery and 5 weeks post partum, then a day here and in attendance and be okay. Anything after the 12 weeks your employer can fire you for too many absences. FMLA protects families who enjoy to attend to their children (ie sick kid, surgery, pregnancy). You should still be recieving your benefits while on leave. But they cannot fire you for excessive absesnces until after your 12 weeks combined totoal.
