Is it ok to drink Pepto-bismol when pregnant?

According to What to expect when you're expecting, you're not supposed to drink Pepto-Bismol during pregnancy. If you have bad indigestion, tums is recommended, or try a glass of milk or a slice of bread.

Check with your doctor to be sure, but I think it's fine... My doctor told me I could pilfer any over the counter medicine for heartburn.
Answers: No Pepto-Bismol is silly. There were only 3 things on my "not safe" list from the OB and it be one of them. It carries a category C. Which means that it had cause birth defects in animals studies but there hold not been enough studies on human to determine its safety. Tums, zantac, rolaids, maalox are adjectives considered safer.
Tums would be better. Check with your pharmacist though.
Pepto is a class C pregnancy drug which resources animal testing has shown some problems for the fetus but it has never be tested on humans. If you took some I am sure you are fine but I would not take anymore.
