16 and pregnant? (repost).. relief?
Okay, so I have decided to keep the toddler. But I dont know if I want to give water birth, or get the epidural. I hold a ZERO pain tolerance, I even cry from a paper cut... But I think marine births are amazing and beautiful, and I've been researching about them. If I prefer to do a water birth, I will take the natural (and really painful) track. But if I go to a hospital and get an epidural, it wont be as painful, beside the epidural. But the after affects arent so great... Also if something goes wrong, there is immediate abet. But I really dont know. Though I know one thing. I want to be the first person to touch my baby, not a midwife or nurse.. that and I cant pedal ANY pain whatsoever. So please give me advice? Also from women who own given birth?? Thank you :)
PS. I am very lucky to have the full support of my family, and the baby's daddy (they adjectives want to keep it too) and they will support me no matter what birth I decide to own. I feel very blessed for their acceptance, and to enjoy found a man that would welcome his baby instead of push me for abortion/adoption :)
you still hold a long, long way to go. I think, since you are 16, it would be better for you to be surrounded by a hospital. You can always deny an epidural, but its hard the get one the other course around. The pain and experience is very overwhelming, especially at 16. Good luck at whatever it is you do, you hold a long time to decide.
Many hospitals very soon have the option to do a water birth at hand in the hospital, so that should alleviate any worries about having on the spot help available. They also (mostly) allow midwives or doulas to be present as well.
I debated, myself, and the epidural finally won out surrounded by the end, but a girlfriend of mine who was due at the same time did the hose down birth and loved it.
So, it's really up to you, now that you have some additional facts.
im glad everything is working out for you i was there at the age of fourteen and it can be VERY upsetting especially with everyones input about it ( really didnt help matters) but i would budge with the water birth i have other wanted to do one plus if you go natural and experience the niggle...and yes you will still be in pain after ward no matter what you do but perchance it will help ya thinking about not getting preg again for a while..lol
EDIT: FYI i never had the epidural next to my other two and dont plan on having it with this one either
I was pregnant for four months and had a still born. I despondently had to give birth to him and I have feel the contractions and I was not given the epidural. I will tell you it hurts, pretty bad. So if you are not a friend of spasm, I would suggest the epidural.
Best of luck to you and your baby.
:)
If you are so sure that you are unable to bear any agony, an epidural is the way to go. I had one beside almost no side effects, but they do carry their risks.
If you have a water birth at home, something may walk wrong and you may not have the help you need next to you. If you choose this route, at least have a midwife there to assist you, if you choose.
If you want to be the first to touch your newborn, tell your doctor. They normally will comply with your requests as much as possible. But, that may be difficult, when you really ponder about the body positioning in a traditional birth. And even though the doctor or nurse may physically touch your child first, they will most likely place your child on your stomach at once, unless there is something wrong.
Talk over your questions and concerns with your doctor. Build a worthy relationship with them. Remember, they are the person who is going to assist you in bringing your first child into the world. You necessitate to be able to fully trust and communicate with them.
Good luck Source(s): My pregnancy and I'm studying to be an RN.
good for you!! I would do a c paragraph. A water birth they usaly dont give you pain meds. hold on to that in mind. I am 19 and preg with my 3rd!!
I had a regular birth with my first, c with 2nd. C is way hurriedly and you are pretty doped up!
Answers: Well coming from someone who does have a large tolerance for pain I still couldn't handle labor. My son was a big newborn and since it was my first time it was a long delivery. I go into labor about 3 am and didn't deliver him till 10 pm so keep that in mind it's not of late a few hours of pain it's a long time. After about 8 hours I couldn't take it anymore and granted to get an epidural I would recommend going to the hospital and tell them you don't want drugs at first and choose a hospital or birthing center that has the route of a water birth. So atleast then if you do change your mind you can find an epidural. And just so you know I didn't have any bad side effects from the epidural and very soon I'm 37 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child and plan on getting an epidural again. Just keep in mind labor pains are alot more intense next period or paper cuts. Congrats and good luck
girl if you can't handle affliction than you better get the epidural plus it rocks you wont fill a thing and your not as out of it as you may judge
hiya, im a young mummy too! waterbirths are really cool - you can use gas in the water which might give a hand if your a bit scared of the pain. congrads :)
Im going to deliever at a hospital, under the thought of doctors and nurses, Just in case anything goes wrong. Like if she have a broken bone or stops breathing. I also plan to not have an epidural, I have a very illustrious tolerance to pain, So I thought that this was a better option for myself. If you deliever contained by the hospital You're probably not going to be able to touch your baby first, I really dont know why you would want to...I want the doctors to make sure my kid is healthy before handing her to me (My babys robustness is alot more important than me touching her first, I have plenty of time to hold her when I get her home) Also I would converse to a midwife and birthing center and a doctor before making a choice, Also Your probably not that far along so If you decide to have a hose birth - that may not happen if your high risk or have strength problems.
Im glad you have a support system, So Do I and I dont know what I would do without my boyfriend (babys father), My parents, His Parents, and My good friend KC. Source(s): 16 and 33 weeks 4 days pregnant next to a baby girl (Lexi Elaine)
Well I would think with a wet birth in hospital but its a personal choice where you have a child and you can enjoy people standing by so nothing goes wrong.
I meditate you'll find it hard to be the first person to touch your baby if its not a marine birth as you'll need someone to hold babies head.
first of adjectives i wanna say congrats having a baby is a wonderful dazzling experince but really painful
water babies are unique and wonderful but really prickly i had a water baby for my first child (i be just 12 at the time and really young but i was raped :[) i really say aloud for you to do an epidural because the pain for water babies is very bumpy and can hurt alot but not on all people for me it was minor misery and i was so happy to hold my baby but watever u do in recent times think of ur pain and how much pain u can appropriate either pregancy u do really will be pain though
hope u decide and everything works out Source(s): 37 year outmoded mommy of 8 and preggers with twins XD
